Unexpected 9: Crime Set

Chapter 2: No English

"Guys, we gotta go!" Hondo called entering the cubicle area.

After the big celebrations, Hicks sent the squad to finish all the paperwork and filing left from all open cases. He said by next week many cases will be presented in several courts throughout the city as the Center was closing out its fiscal plan for the upcoming cycle. This process usually requires closing of as many cases as possible before starting a new fiscal year.    

"DEA wants us to follow up three leads on an open case involving an Vietnamese gang smuggling weapons and using them to scare off rival gangs from their territory and terrorize their neighborhoods. They believe the gang is led by an ex AB-26." he explained as the group moved hurriedly to the locker room

"AB 26?" Street asked

"Yeah, Asian Boyz. Gang started back in the 70s, led by Cambodian and Filipino immigrants who stood their grounds against Hispanic and Black rival gangs in the city." Hondo explained as they went down the small staircase

"Hondo!" commander Hicks called

"Let's go relaxed guys. Suit, but gear in the trunk just in case." he stopped to explained. He looked at each one of his men, capturing their full attention.  "Luca and Street, get the cars ready!"

"Yes, sir!" Street said nodding once

"Got it, boss!"Luca responded nodding

"I'll meet you downstairs" he said as he turned towards Hicks

As the guys waited for Hondo in the parking lot, Street used his phone to dig up some more information on the gangs involved. Tan also did some research and shared information of his own. They were interrupted by barking.

"Pops!" Rubio yelled running towards Street

All the officers looked up, as the boy came in with a backpack. A dog stuck his head out almost completely and barked wildly at Street.

"Hey, dude!" Luca greeted excited

"Rubio?" Street asked stunned

"Hey blonde!" Tan greeted with some high fives

"Hey!" Deacon greeted him, extending his fist.

"What are you doing here, buddy?" Street said with a smile, as Rubio went for a big bear hug.

The dog felt the hug as it began to shriek and cry, feeling left out in behind the boy's back.

"Ok, ok, dame un break!" (give me a break!) Rubio complained as he swung the backpack and got the dog out.

"He's so cute!" said Luca immediately approaching to pet the dog, which jumped into Street's chest and began licking the young officer's face with pure excitement.

"He likes you, Street!" Deacon said with a smile

"Guess they understand each other well." Tan added with a smirk

"Tan, shut up!" Street snapped as he tried to move away from the wet tongue, "Stop! Stop! Topo!"

The group gathered around and between smiles and giggles received the canine.

"It's come to the point where Chris calls and she goes like 'Hey! How's Rubio? Is Topo ok?" and I'm like 'I'm fine, you know? Not that anybody cares!' Unbelievable!" he said shaking his head slowly, annoyed

"You jealous of a dog, Street?" Tan asked

"Yeah! I'm cuter anyway!" Street snapped

"Right!" Hondo snapped, nodding his head as everyone giggled
