She kept getting his answering machine. No news from her kid either. Nobody in sight, she was alone. One of the most important moments in her life and they were nowhere to be seen. She just couldn't believe it!

A mix of sadness, disappointment and pure despair filled her soul as she began questioning her motives. Was this truly for her? What if what she really wanted was already there in LA? What if a family is good enough for her happiness? Why risk moving away and leaving them? Was it worth it?

She rolled her luggage and swung her duffel bag onto her shoulder as the group moved towards the TSA checkpoint and terminals. Once she was through, there was pretty much no turning back. They would board the jet and in six hours they would be landing in Reagan National Airport. Then, another hour to hour and a half by bus until they reached their hotel. According to the schedule previously discussed, they would get exactly six hours of sleep before a full day of training, conferences and workshops in several office buildings.

None of that really mattered and honestly, she felt no excitement whatsoever. True, she was supposed to feel proud and ecstatic to be part of such opportunity, but just like the time she boarded the plane to Germany, her nerves were at a peak. Back then Street's operation had her unsettled, while now it was the thought of losing her family, something that she never thought would be possible in a million years. It was just too much at stake!

"Captain, we have extradited TSA access so this should only take a couple of minutes. We will be boarding promptly."

"Yes, sir" she answered emotionless

Her eyes became flooded with tears as she fought hard to push them back, the lump in her throat was so overpowering even breathing was a challenge and her palms became so sweaty she had to let go of her luggage and bag. She couldn't! She just...took off to the women's bathroom. She needed to let go!

After some minutes of pouring rain, she could finally breathe. She held on to one of the sinks and breathed in slowly. Once she had collected herself, she washed and dried her face and dug into her bag for her liner. She had to look normal!

But...she wasn't! She felt terrible. She couldn't do it. She...

"Captain Alonso, we'll be waiting by the terminal. Jet leaves in 20 minutes!" called one of the Marshalls attending the flight, as she heard his deep voice from outside of the ladies' room. For once being the only female actually paid off! She could enjoy solitude!

With her head down, she grabbed the handle and then swung the duffel bag over her shoulder. She walked slowly, feeling each step melt her heart and break her soul into pieces. She looked up, "Terminals" she whispered as she took one last breath. In her head she made a toast for: misery, pain, loneliness...

"MA!" she heard the familiar male voice from her backside.

She immediately opened her eyes wide and turned around. Rubio was running towards her, closely followed by Street. She let go of everything and went their way. The three met halfway, as the scene melted the hearts of every bystander there. People stared as the three stood silent for minutes, hugging each other and not letting go.

Slowly, Rubio pulled away and removed his backpack. As he began to take out the crying pup, the couple took advantage to share a long kiss. She stood firmly, cupped his face into her hands and planted a soft kiss on his lips. That wasn't enough for the male officer,, who grabbed her by the neck and passionately got their tongues involved.

"Topo!" they heard Rubio call, as the dog squirted out of the bag and into his arms.

She slowly pulled away, licking her bottom lip. They stood, foreheads touching, eyes closed to a paradise only they knew of, savoring that moment. Her warm scent, his damp neck, her soft uniform against his strong vest, her leg muscles tight as she held her position against his muscular figure...Everything she's ever wanted!
