I watch as Hades injects the venom into Ace's arm. Ace let's off a sigh of relief and his head falls to the left slightly.
"Are the chains necessary?"I ask, signaling to the chains around Ace's wrists.
"Like it or not, snake demons are Belial's creatures. They're under his rule, they follow his orders. You need to keep the child away from him."he says, handing me 7 or 8 of the syringes of venom.
"When he starts to act like not himself, shoot him up. I'll be back I need to check something."he says, walking away.
"Wait you're just going to leave? I need to go get Cain!"I say, placing the syringes down in the table.
"Figure it out!"he booms back at me.
I jump.
"I am a God you pest. The only reason I'm here now is because I owe you, and I rarely own anything to anyone especially a bloody human. You will not talk to me as your equal."he says, his eyes darken with anger and I jump, backing away.
"Now, I said I'd be back."he says, turning and walking away.
The house rumbles and I go back towards Ace.
"I'm sorry."Ace says softly.
"Don't apologize. I should be apologizing to you."I say.
"Please, tell me Cain isn't with him right now."He says quietly.
"He's not, he's at-"he cuts me off.
"Don't tell me."
I bite my tongue.
"Are you feeling better?"I ask, sitting down on the bed, looking at my hands.
"Mm..."he says softly.
I place my hand on his arm, feeling the scaly skin patches he had.
"Do I revolt you?"he asks.
I look up at him.
"Of course not Ace."I say, moving closer to him.
He chuckles a bit as he looks away from me. I see veins pulsating green in his neck and I frown.
"I didn't know changing into a demon was painful."I say softly.
He takes a deep breath before he speaks.
"When a snake bites you, your body is aware of what the venom from the snake is doing. Weather it's destroying every nerve in your body one by one, clotting up your blood to clog your veins, or melting away your flesh. You feel it all, as it's happening."he breathes as I stand, walking to the cold rag on my dresser and picking it up.
"Sometimes it's so painful, we beg for death because we think the pain will never end."he says as I place the cold rag against his neck.
This makes him shudder and yank at the chains and I gasp, reaching for it back but he stops me.
"No no, l-leave it."he shivers.
"Is it hurting you?"I ask, putting my hand on his sweating forehead.
He was surprisingly cold.
"I'm cold blooded now. Cool right?"he asks, winking a yellow eye at me.
I chuckle as I walk over to my bookshelf.
"Well, let's take care of one thing first."I say, picking up a small wooden box.
He chuckles as he sees it.
"Are those what I think they are?"he asks as I open the box.
They reveal Ace's old, thick sunglasses.
He chuckles as I carefully slip them on over his eyes.
"My god, that's so much better."he huffs, relaxing his head against the pillows.
....
Hades walks slowly down a long white hall, his black clothing making him stand out in the all white.
He huffs as he sees a desk appear at the end of the hall.
The receptionist was a child, a little girl dressed in all white, her hair pulled back into a slick bun and glasses over her eyes.
She was typing on a typewriter as Hades approached.
"I need to see my br-"he was cut off by her raising a small finger at him, pausing his voice so that she could finish typing away at her typewriter.
Once she finishes she looks up and clears her throat.
"How may I help you, Mr. Hades?"she asks in a high pitched voice.
He huffs.
"Literally a child of all creatures..I need to see my brother."he huffs.
"Poseidon is not in today. Ocean matters to attend to."she says with a smug smile.
Hades looks down at her with disgust.
"Burn."he demands.
She then bursts into flames and he walks past her, angrily.
...
Hades kicks open the door, seeing his brother speaking with his counselor of other gods.
Aphrodite, Apollo, Athena, Demeter, Hephaestus, Hera, Hermes, Poseidon and Zeus, Hades brother.
"Brother. Why was I not informed of your arrival?"he asks, opening his arms and walking towards Hades.
"Because I incinerated your receptionist. Don't touch me."he holds a firm hand out, slapping his brother right in the forehead and pushing him away as he tries to hug Hades.
"Oh, be nice to your brother H."Athena pouts, making Hades huff.
"Can I be alone with my brother, for a moment please you fucking leaches."Hades says.
"Come brother, stay a while why don't you?"Zeus chuckles, walking back to his throne.
"Just a little while?"Aphrodite pleads.
Aphrodite always had a crush on Hades.
"I'd love to, unfortunately I can't because I have a job. Not lousing about like you lot. We have a problem."he says to Zeus.
"What could possibly be wrong on such a perfect day?"Zeus asks with a smile.
"Um, well my lord impregnated a mortal the mortal then killed my lord and continued on raising her child, the child is now six and his father is trying to get up to the mortal realm to end all life on the stupid fucking marble you keep in your pocket."Hades says.
The room goes quiet.
"How are you completely unaware of this!"Hades shouts, his voice echoing around in the large room.
"You gods are all the same now. Just laying there and taking the mortals prayers, now all of your mortals are going to die! What will you do then?"Hades asks.
Zeus thinks hard, looking at Hades' annoyed expression.
"Take me to this mortal with the demon child."Zeus demands.
