Chapter 2 - Crystal Ball

There were estimated a thousand examinees heard the girls cheerful voice from the speaker. Some of them was confident, some was surprise, and some anxious. They all knew that after opening the gate an exam was waiting for them.

Mateo was one of the people who felt anxious. It was obvious, the first test was about magic. They are testing the level of the descendants magic powers, if they failed the high expectation of the school then they will go home. Those who traveled far looks like they only wasted their money just to fail on the first try.

"The crystal ball might be the first test they come up in order to lessen the examinees" Karl also thought so, there are a lot of examinees that waiting for the gate to open. It was like they were in a concert hall, full of teenagers waiting for their idols to come out.

Mateo look at his palm then to the gate. "Do you think this test is unfair?" Mateo asked Karl thinking about the people in the town who was cheering for him.

"The test is unfair for us" Karl answered also looking at the big gate "But it was reasonable, well look at us, here waiting for the gate to open" He added looking over the examinees with them. From their front to their side and to their back. The place in front of the school was packed with hungry descendants wanting to enter Galeo High.

"I thought so" Mateo said and put his hands down also followed Karl glancing at the examinees.

The first test was unfair for the examinees but it was reasonable. If they don't do this there will administered a lot of examinees on the other exam. The first exam is choosing those who are qualified to enter for the next exam. Even though this will hurt some of the examinees they only need those who are serious and ready to enter in the battle field. They aren't the best school who had successful graduates for nothing. They choose their students wisely. Also those who failed can try again. Everyone has second chances.

"Good day examinees! Thank you for waiting patiently!" The announcer Mira greeted the examinees again with her cheerful tone. "Now let me fully welcome you to Galeo High! Enjoy!" As soon as she said those words the big castle gate slowly open in front of everyone's eyes. The examinees were silent waiting for it to fully open. None of them move, everyone was just staring at the gate's direction.

When the gate was opening, there they can see one small booth with a Galeo High on its top. In the booth was a person sitting upright waiting for the examinees. Next to the person was another person but standing. On the table, there was a crystal ball. When the sun hits the glass of the ball, it shines so brightly that it was kind of blinding.

Then little by little, the gate was half open, there are a total of 7 booths was seen then 9, 11, 13 and until it turned a total of 20 booths.

"It opened" Karl and Mateo both mumbled. When they heard that they chorus they look at each other then chuckled.

"This is it Mat, the first test" Karl said looking at the examinees slowly entering the school. They also did not want to stay to the same place. They also move forward together with the others. A wave of descendants push through inside filling each booths with a long line. When you look at it in a bird's eye view, there was a total of 20 long snakes lined up inside the school.

Mateo and Karl had the hard time finding a place to line up. Because there was a lot of descendants who have now lined up, they need to follow the line to the back finding for an empty spot. While walking and looking around, Mateo saw a line near to where they are standing. "Karl, let's go there" Karl who was also looking glance at Mateo's hand pointing at the last line then nod.

While walking to that place, there are a lot of people in their way that it was difficult to pass. They need to walk zigzag while holding each others hand just to not let each other get lost. When Mateo saw that there was an examinee who was going to pass in front of him, he instantly avoided the person and turn left however, when he turned he unexpectedly hit his head on a hard yet a little bit soft surface that made him close his eyes.
