Chapter 3 - Color Cards

The still confuse Mateo was now beside Karl, who had a lot of questions to ask what happened at the booth. But when Karl view the state of Mateo he did not bother to utter any words. He waited for Mateo to woke up from his deep thoughts and took a peek at the card Mateo was holding. It was black.

When Mateo sense that someone was staring at the card he was holding, the scene that happened a while ago sunk into his mind and he was now thinking straight. "I got black card" he said to Karl then place it next to Karl's card. "We have the same testing building"

Karl smile in relief "We'll be at O-building"

"You know where that is?" Mateo look around the campus and saw that behind the booth there were tall trees. It was like a forest, most of those who had cards in their hands walk at the back of the booth. Both Karl and Mateo stared at each other and nod understanding what they think.

They both walk towards the back of the booth following some of the examinees, when they arrive at the back of the booths they saw five students holding flags with red, blue, yellow, white, and black color. They were lined up in column and the one who was holding the black flag was at the other end of the column.

There were a pack of examinees each of the descendants who are holding flags. The descendants with flags were wearing a blue uniform and a black pants for boys and skirt for girls. Mateo and Karl pass those people and stop at the sight of the girl who was holding the black flag.

"I think we need to go to the person holding a black flag" Mateo pointed at the girl wearing an extra witch cloak at her uniform while holding a black flag in her hands. The girl seems to notice their presence and look at them with a smile and wave her hands.

Karl smile brightly and also wave his hands while taking a walk towards the girl and the other examinees who are waiting for the next test.

"Hi! I'm Cynthia a third year, and I'll be your guide to O-building. We will just wait for others who pass to come here and we will be good to go" the witch girl introduce herself and explain the situation.

"I'm Karl and this is Mateo" Karl never cease a chance to find friends and introduce himself and Mateo. Karl chatted with Cynthia wanting to know about information about the life of a student here in Galeo High. Cynthia was not unfriendly and happily chatted with Karl.

Mateo on the other hand look at the descendants that had pass the test. There were different types of descendants, they were either bubbly, anxious, silent, cold, ignorant, and etc. There was a little  girl with a pony tail sitting at the top of her big luggage and was holding a cute doll in her arms caught Mateo's attention. The girl was looking at him with complicated face then it soon beam with joy. A second later, the little girl smiled shyly at Mateo. Mateo was startled and look away at the little girl.

Minutes have past, a lot of examinees are arriving one by one at each of the students with flags, it was also the same in Cynthia's location. The tall man who Mateo bump had also got black cards. In this area full of descendants, Mateo found that tall man. "I'm embarrass" Mateo whispered to Karl.

"Huh? Why?" Karl was confuse with Mateo's action. He saw that Mateo was secretly pointing at someone and followed Mateo's hands with his eyes.

"He's there" Karl saw the tall man and chuckled. He can tell that Mateo was embarrass that he called the man a teacher at his back.

"He will not know if we don't tell him, let's both keep it a secret" Karl said that looks like he was talking to a child.

"I know. It just that I feel guilty. He's young but I told him he looks like a teacher, that means he looks like an adult. It can hurt you know" Karl laugh at Mateo's logic then ruffled the innocent boy's hair.
