Chapter 9 - Stamina Test

Is what Mateo thought. As soon as morning came he converse with Edward however, the tall man seem to have a wall in front of him that it was hard to get a lot of information with him. Mateo would always be the one who done the talking, making up a topic, and also joke around which would turn out awkward. Edward on the other hand would only answer questions briefly, or talk straightforwardly.

"Do you have a problem?" Lesley ask when he heard Mateo sighed. Mateo shake his head as an answer.

"What happened?" Karl notice Lesley's askance to Mateo. He turned to look at Mateo to gain information however, again Mateo shake his head.

"It's nothing important, let's just focus on class" Mateo brush off all the things he was thinking about Edward's behavior and look forward to today's class.

"Well if you say so" Karl and Lesley did not dig much about Mateo's problem because today is a very interesting day.

In their application subject they are going to the field. They still don't know what will happen but going to the field only meant one thing. They are going to use their magic and battle.

The students of class B was wearing their P.E uniforms. They are not full geared because they aren't allowed to bring their props with them without the permission of their teacher.

When they arrive at the field, Mr. Samson, their application instructor told them to gather. Mateo look around the field. The field was big and there are some kind of course and other things that are needed for their class.

"Today, I am going to test your stamina" Mr. Samson said while pointing at the big running course that was in an oval shape.

As soon as the students heard Mr. Samson said their faces turned disappointed. They thought that there will be another battle that will happen but it to their dismay they will be going to test their stamina.

"You will going to run to the course as many as you can. Start from this point and after running back to this point you will start counting one and so on. You will count on your own and cheating is not an option" Mr. Samson ignored everyone's grunts and continued talking. When he said about the starting point it was the line that was drawn in the oval and the way Mr. Samson said that cheating is not an option means he knows who will cheat. "If you are done and given up running, come to me and report how many laps did you make. Now take your position"

The students without any position to argue did as what Mr. Samson instructed. When they got into their position Mr. Samson blows his whistle and the students started to run.

"I didn't thought that all were going to do today is run" Lesley violently said while running with the pace of his two boy friends.

"Isn't this a fun training?" Blue who was running together with the three suddenly said. While his brother was also with them.

"You two only find this exciting! Guys like you who don't understand girls like me will only live alone for the rest of their life!" Lesley did not hide her hatred with this kind of training and took a detour to talk with the friend she made. It was Portia her roommate.

"Brother good luck with courting a girl!" Sky chuckled at what Lesley said to his twin brother.

"You're also included brother!" Mateo and Karl did not mind the twin brothers bickering at each other and seriously run.

Mateo also wanted to know his stamina level with how many rounds he can make with this long course. Along the run Mateo unknowingly glance at Edward who was ahead of everyone in the class. Mateo purse his lips and look away when he sense that he had been looking for the tall boy. He don't know why, but something inside him seems to be interested with him since the day they bump with each other and yesterday's interaction. It seems that whenever he touch the boy he felt a little pleased for some reason.
