Gemma's point of view:

" Gemma!".

Turning towards the voice, an inflatable beach ball smacks me in the face.

" Ow" My gaze meets Nancy's.

She's walking towards Robin and I with Jonathan.

This is the first time i've seen her this weekend, considering it's only a three day camp, and tomorrow's the last day.. it kind of makes sense.

" Sorry, my bad!".

The both of them stand opposite Robin and I in the sand.
Other seniors and juniors clumped around us, waiting around for the water activities.

" Hi, I'm Robin" She sticks her hand out.

Nancy stares down at it for a second, raising an eyebrow before shaking it.

" I'm Nancy, Gemma's sister. And I'm sure you both know Jonathan?".

We nod, awkwardly smiling at him.

" I think we're doing canoeing in pairs and then rafts in groups" She hands Jonathan a towel.

Of course she knows the schedules.

I open my mouth about to say something when the teacher speaks through the megaphone.

" Seniors in one single file line, Juniors in the other".

They smile at us before walking off to the seniors lining up, Robin turning to face me.

" What if I get put with some stupid football douche" She lines up behind me.

" Just elbow them, or capsize the boat".

She lets out an anxious laugh, fidgeting with the bottom of her shorts.

My eyes skim over the seniors line, watching the paired students climb into their canoes, paddling off.

" Gemma, partnered with Billy" the megaphone muffles.

It takes me a few seconds to process this, until he's walking over to me.
Two paddles in his hands.

" Isn't this perfect" He smirks.

Robin reassuringly pats my back, a groan slips out my mouth, following him towards the canoe.

At first I think Robin's breath of relief is for Billy taking his shirt off, but when I turn to face her she walks towards the canoes with Nancy.

I'd rather be partnered with her, listening to a lecture on my life then partnered with Billy.

" Ladies first" He steps aside.

My eyes meet his, blue and cold.
Shallow.

Sticking his hand out to help me in, I shrug past it, climbing into the front of the canoe.

He climbs in behind me, a smirk across his face.

" Let's just get this over with" I begin to paddle.

The canoe barely moves, when I turn to face him, noticing the paddle laying across his lap.
Shoving his shoulder, he lets out a cackle.

" Can you paddle?".

" I'm just enjoying the view" Holding his hands up in surrender.

I almost turn back to the front when my eyes meet his.
He's helping Erin into the canoe, wearing a pale white t-shirt and jeans.

I guess he's not planning to get wet.
Why the fuck are they allowed to be partners? They're both seniors.

He breaks eye contact when he climbs into the canoe, his jaw clenched, furrowed brows.
