My toes wiggled in the sand bellow my feet. The water slowly creeping up and covering my ankles. I stood, slowly waiting for the love of my live to join me. I think he's going to propose, but I'm not getting my hopes up. Today I had got my nails done with the money I had saved up from both of my jobs. My mom can barley afford our house on top of her hospital bills, so I had to get a job. After a few months I needed a second one, so aside from my job at the pet store, I also sent an application to be a waitress at the small restaurant down the block. After I payed my mom's hospital bills and the rest of our needs, I got to get my nails done. Something I've never got to do before. Just for this occasion.

The wind howled as the sun began to set. "Hey Evie, sorry I'm late." I heard Lucas say from behind me. I spun around, causing my sundress to twirl as well. I stood, smiling, look at the most handsome man I had ever met. His blue eyes looked into mine as the wind caused his blonde hair to cover his forehead and eye brows. My short brown hair blew behind me, my green eyes still meeting his. A sigh of relief, or so I thought, left his mouth. "So.. we need to talk" he said, his voice a sadder tone then usual. "Okay, what's up?" I said with a small smile, still confused. "So, well, there's no easy way to say this" he ran his finger threw his hair. "I met someone, and I really like her, I think she's my person, and I love you and the time we spent together, but I don't think we should be doing this anymore. This relationship isn't working ev, I'm sorry".

That was where my life went down hill. After my two year relationship, my room started to get messy, and so did my life. Living in a small town in Florida, everyone found out within a week. Soon enough my best friend had to start bringing me groceries, that is until I needed my life back. Now it was mid October and school had started. I was leaving the house , but only for work and school. But, it being October, football games and the annual fair were coming up, and that was something I just couldn't miss.
