I pondered on how I felt about the girl sitting next to me. I couldn't like a girl, I'm over thinking. I have to be, I can't actually-
My thoughts were cut off."So you gettin married or something?" The girl beside me asked. "Am I what?" I asked, still in my thoughts. "The white dress, I mean, it's not exactly a wedding dress but I thought you were maybe just laid back". I brushed a stray hair behind my ear. "No, um I just liked it I didn't know what to really wear" I said, trailing off. "You look pretty." She said. Butterflies swarmed my chest. Even though I knew they shouldn't. A warm blush filled my cheeks as I sat there, embarrassed. "I never got your name" I said with a small smile, finally caving into eye contact.
"Jamie" she said with a smirk. "It means love in French" I smiled at that comment. Of course it does. "And do you have a name or are you just wedding dress girl" Jamie joked, or flirted, I couldn't tell. "It's Evie. Now shut it" Tori interrupted. Answering a phone call. "Yeah we can pick you up" "sure" "okay see ya" she said, pausing in between to hear the person talk. Tori slightly turned her head to face Jamie after the person hung up. "We're picking up Delilah" she said winking at her "who's that" I asked
Jamie opened her mouth to answer but Tori beat her too it. "Jamie's girlfrienddddd" she said trailing off the end of the word. Jamie slightly blushed. "She not my girlfriend" she said. My heart hurt, I had only just met her but it still hurt. What the fuck- I'm straight. Forget about it, I told myself. Before I knew it we pulled up in front of this huge house, laced with night flowers and cute decorations. A short girl stepped out the front door in a short crop top and leggings, that made her look amazing. She had long blonde hair, large hoops in her ears, with lots of makeup on. She blew a bubble out of her mouth before climbing in the front seat.
The rest of the drive was award, Jamie and Delilah flirting as I sat in annoyance. This is officially the worst car ride I've ever been in, I decided. But just as I was about to say something, my favorite song played. "This is your favorite song Evvvvv" Tori teased, even though I'm sure it came off as flirting, we had always come off like that. As I went to sneak a glance at Jamie, I could see her seeming annoyed, just as I had been. A small smile peered across my lips, and I mumbled the words to Tennessee Whisky.
"Your as smooth, as Tennessee Whisky, your as sweet as strawberry wine, and your as warm as a glass of brandy. Honey I stay strong, on your love, all the time."
