"Der- I wanna go home.." Meredith whispered

"Soon." Derek rubbed her back. "Mer? Ava wanted to talk to us" Derek told her

"What about?" Meredith muttered

"No idea. She wanted you to be there as well" Derek explained

"Oh-" Meredith nodded. "Now?"

"Don't you think we should wait until you rest a little longer?" Derek suggested

"Der.. I wanna get discharged. We need to look for mom and dad's room and-" She stopped when she felt sick and clutched her head

"Nap first. Meanwhile I'll ask if you can get discharged soon" Derek kissed her head

"Today.." Meredith muttered

"I'll ask" He promised and waited until she finally had fallen asleep

...

"Hmm" Meredith started stirring

"Hi honey" Carolyn smiled

"Mom" Meredith breathed with a soft smile and opened her eyes, seeing her father and husband as well "Hi" She smiled

"Hi sweetie" Christopher smiled

"Guess what? You can go home but there are rules" Derek climbed in bed with her and held her

"Rules?" Meredith sheepily asked

"No walking around by yourself, taking enough rest and let us help you" Derek said sternly

"Urgh" Meredith groaned

"Mer.." Christopher sighed

"Okay" Meredith mumbled

"How are you feeling honey?" Carolyn asked

"O-Okay. Can we go now?" Meredith looked up

"Patience" Derek laughed "I grabbed your bag already and signed your discharge papers" He smiled at his wife

"What are we waiting for?" Meredith tried to sit up

"We had rules" Derek laughed and scooped her up in his arms, placing her down in the wheelchair. "I'll give your feeding at home" He smiled. "We still have to come for chemo the day after tomorrow" He reminded her

"Urgh" Meredith groaned

"It will be okay" Carolyn kissed Meredith's head and covered her with a blanket

"Want it to be over" Meredith whispered "Der- Call Ava, she wanted to talk to us"

"I called her, she's coming over for dinner with Jack" He told her

"Good.." She muttered and they pushed her out of the room

...

"Dad, when can we wake up mom?" Ava asked with a soft smile

"You can if you want." Derek smiled

"Okay!" Ava smiled and went to wake up Meredith "Mom?"

"Ava.. Hi" Meredith weakly smiled but couldn't immediately open her eyes as she felt completely exhausted

"Mom, I'm going to get dad. We need to tell you something"

"O-Okay" Meredith muttered but made no attempt to move, she was physically unable to push herself up

"Let's sit you up" Derek lifted her on his lap

"Mom.. Dad" Ava smiled as she sat down with her husband

"Hi mom" Jack smiled

"We-We're pregnant" Ava smiled proudly

"Oh-" Meredith gasped and weakly smiled

"Congratulations!" Derek smiled

Ava hugged her parents

"Congrats baby" Meredith smiled weakly

"Thanks mom" Ava kissed Meredith's head before Jack hugged them as well

"Congrats, Jack" Meredith said again but sounded even weaker than before

"Thanks mom" He smiled

...

"That's amazing!" Carolyn and Christopher hugged Ava as they got told the news

"Meredith and Derek are becoming grandparents" Mark chuckled as he and Addison hugged Ava and her husband as well

"I can't believe I'll be an auntie" Emma chuckled

"Where's Mary?" Ava asked her sister

"She's working. She won't be home before midnight" Emma told them. "Dad, is mom still sleeping?"

"Yeah. I just gave her the tube feeding as well so she'll be out for a while I assume" He sighed

"Oh- Okay" Emma nodded sadly

"No worries honey. Mom will be okay" Carolyn said sternly as she picked up Emma's anxiety getting worse

"Hmm.." Emma nodded but started fidgeting with her hands

"Em-" Carolyn wanted to get the girl's attention but frowned when Emma hurried out of the room

"What's wrong with Em?" Derek frowned

"She's just upset, just give her some time" Carolyn rubbed her son's back. "I think she went to see her mom"

Meanwhile in Meredith's room

Emma was laying down next to her mother, she just needed to see how she was doing and needed to be assured everything would be okay

"E-Em?" Meredith suddenly whispered

"Yeah" Emma breathed and rested her head on her mother's chest

"You okay?" Meredith weakly asked

"Of course mom. What about you?" Emma asked as she held her mom tight

"Kay" Meredith nodded and kissed the top of Emma's head

The two stayed for that for a little while, Meredith had fallen back asleep when Emma heard a soft knock on the door

"Mom's okay, Emmie" Derek rubbed his youngest daughter's back

"Dad-" Emma whispered but felt her breathing getting quicker. It was as if Meredith must have felt it as she woke up

"Shh" Meredith whispered as she tried to calm the girl in her arms down

"You're okay Em. Did you take your meds?" Derek asked her carefully and she nodded in response

"Stay. Will be kay" Meredith muttered

...

"Mer, do you wanna come to the living room?" Derek asked his wife who was still laying down on bed

"Carry me?" She weakly whimpered. "Don't wanna miss out"

"Of course. But are you feeling okay?" Derek frowned at how weak she sounded

"Yeah.." Meredith forced a smile but in fact she didn't feel very okay

"Mom made you some soup, would you like to try some?" Derek asked as he carried her to the kitchen

"No.. Not hungry" She whispered

"Okay" Derek sighed. He walked into the kitchen and saw her parents' head turning to face them

"Oh honey!" Carolyn smiled

"Mom!" Emma walked back inside

Derek placed Meredith down in one of the chairs and frowned as he had to help her upright while Emma hugged her

"Where are the others?" Meredith asked quietly as she looked around

"Ava and Jack had to go see his parents to tell them and Addie and Mark had work. Emma's taking Evie home with her after dinner" Derek explained

"Hmm.. kay" Meredith whispered
