I let out a long sigh, and Vi quickly walked over to me, "Here, sit down. I'm sure there's something I can use to help clean you up in here."

"Something? I bet there's a huge bathroom connected to this room, with a giant tub filled with rose petals, and pre-steamed towels."

She smirked as she sat me down on a small couch, "Well then I guess I'll be right back with some steamed towels then, master Lu."

I rolled my eyes, scoffing a laugh before she finally left, and then the smile fell slowly. I scanned the room. It was pretty, colored nicely, and way too big, even if you're rich. This entire place could fit a family of three if organized well enough, but I guess the extra room for flowers is nice. I wonder how big the closet is?

"Here, got some stuff." Vi smiled as she held up a soaked towel, in her other hand a bottle of what I assumed was rubbing alcohol, bandages and tweezers.

"Crazy map, huh?" I wondered aloud, noticing how she was staring at it.

"Yeah..."

"She was tracking Jinx, and ended up finding you."

Vi hummed as she knelt down beside me, setting the supplies down. As she wiped my forehead to reveal the actual scrape, she spoke gently.

"You got all that from looking at it for just thirty seconds?"

"It's obvious, copies of her drawings are everywhere. There's pictures on here from a recent firelight expedition, where we destroyed a huge shipment of Shimmer topside. Jinx killed three of my people on that ship."

Her eyes widened slightly and she pulled the towel away from my face. For a moment, she didn't say anything, and then she put the towel down and unwrapped a bandaid, pressing it on my forehead and pulling the wound closed with it. She moved to my back without another word, and helped me take off my jacket.

"I'm gonna start pulling this stuff out now. There's only about three pieces."

"Okay." I whispered in reply, grabbing my leg as she grabbed my arm to hold me steady.

I took a deep breath and let it out slowly, clenching my teeth as she pulled out the first piece.

"That wasn't so bad." She began, and I blinked my squinted eyes as I realized she was trying to make conversation to distract me, "By the way, have you ever been topside before?"

"Of course I have—ow!"

"Sorry, it slipped. This one's deeper than the last."

I huffed, "I come up every once and a while to get things for the group. They've got much better medicine up here."

"How the hell did you get it without causing a scene?"

"Simple, I stole some clothes on a laundry line a few years ago and keep it as clean as possible. I wear that every time I come up to get something."

"And how do you get the money?"

I pursed my lips, "Sometimes I sold things for spare change, but most of the time I hijack vending machines and old ATMs for coins."

She finally pulled out the other piece, and I sucked in a breath. My leg started to bounce, and I quickly gripped my knee and pushed my leg back down.

Vi laughed, "Okay, I can totally see that—Alula kicking an old ATM when not as much as she hoped comes out the slot!"

I looked to the far wall, annoyed but amused as she burst out laughing.

"Alright, jeez." I grumbled.
