Chapter 41: Surprises

Bea's POV

Camila telling me to cancel tonight means that something really bad has happened; I was with some of our friends when I got the text so this shouldn't be so hard to cancel.

"Beatrice what happened? Why is your face pale?" Alexa asks and I can't answer because all I could think of is that this is all my fault.

"Bea answer" I hear Ally say and I just shake my head

"Bea what happened?" Carly asks me and I look at her with tears in my eyes

"OMG please tell me it's not about Chris" she says and I look down at the ground

"What happened?" Dinah asks me with concern

"I-I lost him earlier today, when I was suppose to keep an eye on him" I say in between tears.

"And what just happened?" Normani asks

"I don't know, but it looks like he might have just tried something" I say trying to breath

"Tried what?" Lucy asks

"Tried to hurt Mila" I say sniffling

"Seriously the boy needs an ass kicking" Vero says and Alexa and Lucy nod in agreement

"All I know is that Camila wants to cancel tonight" I say looking at all of them

"We can't cancel tonight" Lucy says immediately

"Well we can't just have a party with both Lauren and Camila shaken up about what ever Chris might have done" Carly says

"Bea do you have any idea where Camila and Lauren might be going right now? Because I'm guessing that they are together at this moment" Ally says

"My only guess would be the Jauregui Pent House" I say not so sure of my answer

"Well then ladies I think we have to get to that Pent house before they do just let me make a call" Lucy says

Lauren's POV

Well this has been an interesting birthday. Just when I thought it would be one of the best, my insane little brother had to go and ruin it with his stupidity. I swear that I would have killed him in Camila's room but my first priority was to get Camila away from there and somewhere safe. With that in mind I drove to the one place I knew she would be safe. The pent house apartment my Abuela left me after she died. It was the one place I know that no one can get in unless I allow it.

When we got to our destination, I parked my car in the parking deck; then got out the car and got the door for Camila. We went inside and when we got to the lobby I stopped in front 'of the building security desk.

"Lauren wow, what a surprise. It's been a while. How are you?" he greets

"Hi Ricardo I'm good pero oye um I need the keys to the pent house" I say a bit rushed

"Okay pero relax Chica no one's out to kill you. Also hi Camilita" he says with a smile

"Hi Ricardo" She responds with a small wave

"Bueno here you go" Ricardo says handing me the keys

"Also um if Camila's family comes here let them pass okay" I say remembering to tell him that

"You got it. Anything else Princesa Jauregui?" he says calling me by the name he use to call me when I was younger

"Yea if Christopher shows up here so not let him through. And if he tries to force his way past you call the cops" I say as an order and Ricardo nods knowing not to ask any more questions

Camila's POV

When I heard Lauren give Ricardo those specific orders I knew that she was dead serious. Never in her life had Lauren been more serious. She loves Chris with everything she has but I guess she reached her limit with him after what happened 45 minutes ago at my house. I can't help but feel responsible for all of this because if I hadn't broken up with him maybe he wouldn't have lost his sense of reason, but then again I couldn't just keep stringing him along knowing I am completely in love with his sister.

As we rode the elevator up to the pent house floor, I took a glance at Lauren and noticed that she looked drained from any form of energy and I felt a bit guilty. Today was supposed to be one of the best days of her life. I had planned everything from the time to wake up to the time where I will give her the best birthday gift ever. All of that hard work was now gone though, because Chris ruined it. I was still a bit shaken from what happened but it wasn't enough to affect me that much. I mean with Lauren with me I feel completely safe and protected.

When the elevator finally stopped on the top floor, we stepped out and were met with a decorated living room, full with streamers, balloons and a huge banner saying: "HAPPY BIRTHDAY LAUREN". I couldn't even believe it. Who in the world did this and knew we would be coming here.

"Camz did you do this?" I hear Lauren ask me and I shake my head. "Then who-" and right before she could even finish I see Bea, Normani, Dinah, Ally, Carly, Alexa, Lucy, and Vero all come out of the kitchen holding a cake and singing happy birthday.

"As they sang I looked at Lauren and saw her smile the biggest smile I've ever seen on her face. Along with the smile I saw tears rolling down her face and I never thought I would see Lauren like this ever, and to be honest it was the most beautiful thing in the world. When they finished singing Bea was the first to speak.

"Mila kind of planned something a lot better than this but when she told me to Cancel it these knuckle heads still wanted to do something special." She says and I look at all of the girls and give them a small smile

"I-I don't know what to say. Thank you really. None of you had to do this for me especially after how I've treated you all this past year" Lauren says cleaning her tears

"We wanted to" Normani says

"Yea Mila told us how things have changed and we didn't want to believe her until she showed us this" Carly says showing Lauren a video of us playing and laughing with Sofi the day after we got back from Key West.

"3 weeks ago, she asked us to please give you another shot and we weren't going to do it until we saw you at the jewelry store picking up something that looked expensive" Alexa says referring to herself Vero and Lucy, making Lauren's eyes pop open

"What did you pick up at the jewelry store?" I ask Lauren and she gives Alexa an I'm going to kill you glare

"I think we weren't supposed to mention that" Vero says noticing that I had no idea what they were talking about

"Any way, we wanted to do this, also because we missed our friend too. When you and Mila stopped talking it affected all of us. So when she asked us this favor we all knew that it had to be because you two finally realized what we have known for more than a year" Dinah says high fiving Lucy

"How did you girls even get in here? Ricardo knows that he is only allowed to give the second pair of keys to family" Lauren says curious

"And he did give the keys to Family" Someone says and when Lauren and I turn to the side we couldn't believe who we saw.

"TAYLOR!"
