"They did it!" Cora exclaimed excitedly as she walked alongside Katherine the morning after the strike. "They actually did it!"

In her hands was a fresh copy of the New York Sun, the article that Katherine had written, and the picture Cora had taken, front page and above the fold.

"I can't believe it either, honestly," Katherine admitted. "I knew the story was great, I just wasn't sure that the editors would want to run it."

The blonde's eyes admired the photograph she had taken. As the article's byline declared Katherine Plumber, the lettering underneath the picture announced Cora Marie. She used her middle name to avoid others knowing her true identity, to downplay her talent and skill. She was immensely proud of herself, of Katherine, and especially of the newsies.

The two girls made their way to Jacobi's, where they both had an inkling that the newsies would be to recuperate from the day before. She folded the paper up and placed it under her arm, wiping her palms on her skirt, the blue hue a reflection of the sky. As the girls stepped up to the deli, they entered, finding their way to the dining room. The newsies were spread out all over the room, some lying flat on their backs on the tables, others hunched over on chairs with their heads perched on their hands.

"Good morning!" Katherine exclaimed as she walked into the dining room first, her cheery nature a dichotomy of the downcast newsboys around the room.

Cora frowned, placing her hand on Mush's shoulder as she walked through the sea of boys. "Would you get a load of these glum mugs," she observed, stepping toward the center of the room. "Can these really be the same people who made front page of the New York Sun?"

As she made her statement, she tugged the newspaper out from under her arms, showing it around.

"Front page of what?" Romeo called out.

It seemed to raise the spirits of the newsies, as they all sprung to life, off the tables and chairs, crowding around her and Katherine to get a look at the newspaper. "Lemme see! Lemme see!" Race called out above the rest, snatching the paper from Cora's hands. He observed it quickly, smiling brightly as he exclaimed. "Would you look it? That's me!"

"Front page and you ain't even dead!" JoJo told him jokingly.

Romeo snatched the paper next, excitedly asking, "Where's me? Where's me?"

Buttons didn't let him finish looking before he took the paper from him, beaming with pride. "Wait till my old man gets a load of this," he said, shaking his head. His head snapped up as he shouted excitedly, "I won't be last in line for the tub tonight!"

Cora laughed as she stepped away from the group of newsies, over to where Davey was standing. "You got us the pape?" he asked her, smiling.

"You got yourselves in the pape," Cora told him, the slang feeling odd on her tongue, but nevertheless welcome.
