Leni is already preparing for her SONA. She is inside her room having a makeover with the stylist and make-up artist that they hired for this event.
The SONA or State of the Nation Address will be held at the House of Representatives in Quezon City. Leni's daughters are also preparing in their respective rooms.
After a few minutes, Jorge knocked at the door of her mom's room. When Jorge entered, Leni turned around to face her daughter. When Jorge saw her mom, her jaw dropped and she was dumbfounded by the woman facing her.
"Para ka namang nakakita ng multo riyan, anak." Leni told her
Jorge's eyes widened and she even blinked many times to make sure that it is her mom who is facing her.
"Sino ka? Saan mo dinala ang mama ko?" she asked
"Anak, kumalma ka. Ako to." Leni replied
"Omaygad, mama!" she screamed
"Kaya naman pala gumawa ni G ng isang Maria Leonor bakit iisa lang?" she asked
Her mom gave her a puzzled look.
"Super ganda mo for today's video ma. Akala ko ibang tao." Jorge said and she went to hug her mom
"Nambola na naman ang bunso ko." Leni replied and kissed Jorge on the forehead
She noticed that Jorge is wearing the pink leather band that was given to her by Risa on the day that she first arrived in Manila.
"Suot mo pala yung pink leather band, anak." Leni told her daughter
Jorge smiled at her mom and replied
"Lagi ko po kayang suot to even if it doesn't match my outfit."
Leni smiled at her daughter's response and told her to go and fetch her elder sisters.
Jorge did as instructed and they went out of their residence together. They all headed to the House of Representatives for Leni's first State of the Nation Address.
When they arrived at the Batasang Pambansa, people from the media swarmed around them to take footage, a picture or even a statement from their mom and from them as well.
"Miss Jorge, dito po!" shouted a media man
Jorge looked at his direction, smiled and waved.
They entered the session hall and they were greeted by public officials and their families this time. Leni was searching through the crowd of people around her looking for that one person that she badly wanted to see today.
Jorge noticed that her mom keeps searching the crowd so she whispered to her
"You're looking for Mama Risa, no, ma?"
Leni looked at her youngest daughter in amusement because she knows who she is looking for.
"I just received a text from Anje, they are on their way. Don't worry ma, the love of your life will come at an unexpected time wearing that one thing that you want to see on her wrist even if it doesn't match her outfit." Jorge told her mom
"Do you think suot niya?" she asked Jorge
"I don't think suot niya, ma." she replied
Leni's eyebrows met when she heard her daughter's response. Jorge smiled at her.
"I don't think suot niya because I am sure na suot niya yung plb." Jorge replied
"How sure are you na suot nga niya?" she asked Jorge
"200 percent sure ako, ma after I witnessed what happened in Batangas." Jorge replied
Leni responded to her daughter with a smile still not convinced that Risa will be wearing the out of place pink leather band.
The SONA started without Leni seeing Risa among the crowd. She would have been very inspired to deliver her speech if only Risa was present.
On the other hand, Risa arrived before the SONA started but she did her best not to walk towards Leni. She wanted to approach her once the SONA was done.
"Ma, bakit hindi niyo po nilapitan si Mama Lens?" Anje asked her mom
"I don't want to confuse her before her speech, anak. I want her to focus." Risa replied
"What if mas hindi siya makaka-focus kung hindi ka niya makita?" Anje asked
Risa looked at her youngest daughter and patted her head.
"How sure are you na hindi siya makaka-focus kapag hindi niya ako nakita?" Risa asked
"Just look at her ma. She's searching the crowd to check if you are among them. She's searching for you." Anje replied
They watched Leni dealing with the crowd and waving at some people. Anje gasped in surprise when she saw Leni wave her right hand and she looked at her mom with widened eyes.
"What happened?" Risa asked
"Look at her right hand, ma. Did you not see it? She is wearing it." Anje told Risa
Risa looked at Leni from afar and she focused her gaze on the president's right wrist and saw the pink leather band that matches her pink Filipiniana.
"She is indeed wearing it but the difference is, it matches her outfit now." Risa replied
"She really loves you, ma. Walang duda. Sana huwag mo na siyang pakawalan. You deserve one another." Anje said and then they took their respective seats
After the SONA, Leni was again being surrounded by the media even inside the session hall. This time, Risa did not hide from Leni anymore but instead she waited patiently for her to finish all interviews and accommodate all the people wanting to take a picture with her. When the crowd left, Risa walked towards Leni.
"Hello, my President." she greeted her
"Oh. My favorite Senator!" Leni exclaimed and they embraced one another
Risa then handed Leni a bouquet of lavenders.
"For you." she told her
"Aww. Happy. Thank you so much, Ana Theresia." she said
Leni noticed that there was a note together with the flowers. She opened the note and looked at Risa and smiled, then she read it.
"My dear Maria Leonor,
I hope you'll love these lavenders as much as I loved those you have given me last time.
I had the joy in buying these flowers for you as I also had the joy in receiving the same flowers from you, my Maria Leonor.
You included in your note last time that if I still love you, I should wear the pink leather band even if it doesn't match my outfit.
I would like you to look at my left hand."
When Leni reached that line, she looked at Risa's left hand and saw that she was wearing the pink leather band. She looked at Risa and the taller woman smiled at her. Leni then continued to read the note.
"You see? I am wearing the pink leather band but the difference is, it matches my outfit now.
If the sight of me wearing the pink leather band is a manifestation of my love for you, then I will never take it off again. I will wear it until it is worn out.
I love you, my Maria Leonor and I am choosing you."
After reading the note, Leni looked at Risa and a tear escaped her eye. This time, it is not a tear of sadness but a tear of great joy. She then embraced Risa and whispered to her ear
"I love you more, my Ana Theresia at pangako ko, pipiliin kita araw-araw."
When she let go of the hug, she gave her a peck on the lips.
