It has been 2 days since the incident and Jomari is under the custody of the police and is under investigation. Risa filed a case of frustrated homicide which could advance to homicide if Anje will not make it.
Leni also filed a trespassing case against Jomari who entered the Malacañan grounds without permission. Jomari is also facing charges on illegal possession of firearms.
Everyday, Leni and Jorge keeps visiting Anje at the hospital and Dea is also checking on Anje during her rounds or break at the hospital.
Jorge brings a bouquet of white roses everyday for her best friend and she reads her stories and talks to her about how her day went even though Anje is unresponsive. When Jorge and Leni is around, Risa could take a rest or go and take a shower at the Bahay ng Pagbabago where she is most welcome. Jorge also brings her home cooked foods. Risa's children would have wanted to take turns in watching for Anje but Risa would not want them to. She wants to be there once her daughter wakes up.
Sinta would also visit Anje after classes and hospital duty still wearing her nursing uniform and she would stay there for a few hours before going home.
It was a Sunday so after attending mass at the Santissimo Rosario Parish in UST, they went to get lunch and had a take out for Risa since she haven't eaten yet. When they arrived, they saw Risa holding Anje's hands and talking to her as if she is conscious.
Jorge knocked on the glass window to get Risa's attention and Risa went out to greet them.
"Good morning langga." Leni greeted Risa and kissed her on the cheeks
"Good morning din, langga." Risa greeted her back and kissed her on the forehead
"Good morning, mama Risa." Jorge greeted her
"Kumusta po si Anje?" Jorge asked
Risa left out a sigh and responded
"Well, nothing is happening yet. No improvements. I don't know how long she is going to be in that state."
Leni then squeezed Risa's hands and said
"Don't worry, ga. Anje will be fine. Kumain ka na muna."
"But I can't leave Anje here, ga. She needs me." Risa replied
"Yes ga. Anje needs you but you need to take care of yourself too. Baka ikaw naman ang mapano." Leni told her
"Ako nalang po muna magbabantay kay Honti, ma. Magbebe time este kumain po muna kayo doon." Jorge told them
Risa seemed convinced of Jorge's response so she and Leni went to the hospital's cafeteria so Risa can eat without any interruption.
Meanwhile, in the ICU, Jorge is talking to Anje about how her day went and the things that she and Dea did during the weekend since Dea had no shift at the hospital.
"Alam mo, Honti, nagpunta kami ni Dea sa resort ninyo sa Batangas kasi I was mentally unstable. A lot of things were going on in my head and I needed a break. You being here at the ICU, Jomari trespassing our house, and Astrid ditching me. I really had a lot on my plate. We would have wanted you to come kaso you're here sa hospital. Also, I discovered something that Astrid did behind my back so I was so yeah, I was so messed up. I am happy for our moms though. Sana all, diba? And Aki told me she couldn't come kasi she's busy with her baking class. She'll make bawi na lang daw." Jorge told her unconscious best friend
She squeezed her hands and said
"Honti, please wake up. Marami pa tayong pupuntahan and magba-bar hopping pa tayo and we'll go somewhere during weekends. Wake up ka na please."
Tears fell from her eyes while talking to Anje.
"Just give me a sign that you'll wake up, please. Pagpa-planuhan pa natin ang kasal nina mama, remember?" she added
Then a little later, Anje's right fingers moved.
"Omg! Omg doc!" Jorge screamed and went out of Anje's room
"Doc, Anje's hands moved." she told the doctor who was approaching her
The doctor then went inside Anje's room to check on her.
Back at the cafeteria, Leni and Risa are still having their conversation since they weren't able to have their "langga time" since they became official.
"I think, we need to go back na, ga. Ang tagal ko na pala na nasa labas." Risa said and they went back to the ICU
"I am so happy that we had this time together, ga kahit dito pa sa ospital." Leni told Risa
"I am so glad too na you are still coming here despite of your busy schedule, ga." Risa responded
When they were nearing Anje's room, they saw Jorge outside looking inside the room with her hands shaking and she looks so terrified. The two women rushed towards Jorge.
"What happened?" Risa asked
Jorge started to cry when she heard Risa's question.
"Jorge, anak? Anong nangyari?" Leni asked
Jorge tried to compose herself and answered
"Kinakausap ko lang naman po siya tapos bigla nalang po gumalaw ang kamay niya. I called the doctor but when the doctor came, bigla nalang siyang nag-flatline."
They all looked at Anje inside the room being revived by the doctor. The doctor used defibrillators to restore Anje's heartbeat.
"Clear!" the doctor said and defibrillated Anje
Her heartbeat did not go back after the first one so the doctor tried again.
Risa's heart is being torn to pieces watching her youngest daughter being revived. She turned to Leni and buried her face on her chest.
"Kasalanan ko to, Leni eh. If I ended things with Jomari the right way, hindi sana mapapahamak ang anak ko." she said while sobbing
"Ga, don't blame yourself. Hindi mo kasalanan, okay? Sadyang napuno lang ng galit si Jomari because he cannot accept the fact na hindi mo siya pinili." Leni told her
A few moments later, the doctor went out of the ICU and told them
"I am so sorry, Senator Hontiveros. Ginawa na po namin ang lahat ng aming makakaya."
"Hindi. Hindi pwede." Risa said and walked past the doctor
She went inside the room where Anje lies, lifeless.
"No, Anje stay with me please. Stay with mama." Risa said sobbing
Leni went inside the room to comfort Risa and is also trying her best to be strong for her girlfriend. Jorge's feet on the other hand seemed too heavy for she do not have the strength to enter the room and see the lifeless body of her best friend, Anje.
