The Dragons Fire

S.2 - 30

Talon's POV

"Ya...I figured." Lloyd said after Faith showed him the letter.

"You shouldn't have jumped after us." Kai said. Lloyd rolled his eyes and continued to read.

"I don't understand...nothing has happened yet." Lloyd mumbled.

"Thank you Faith." Kai said facing her.

She nodded. "But I may ask...why are you dressed like you live in the never realm?" She asked.

"I didn't think you knew of that realm." Kai answered. "I have my ways." She said with a wink.

"We just need to stay covered. With this dragon master I don't want to risk anything." Kai answered.

She cocked her head. "What do you mean risk...and how do you know about the dragon master?" She asked.

"We heard it from...around here." I answered.

"And the risk factor?" She continued.

Kai and I looked at each other. He turned back first and opened his mouth to speak.

Then a roar pierced the silence from the outside. Faith jumped up and started for the door. Lloyd also started leaving the letter behind.

Kai and I let out a sigh of relief and started for the door a lot slower then the dash Faith had.

We walked out and Faith was petting a large red dragon.

I took a step back and Kai placed his hand on my shoulder. "That's First Born. The mother of dragons." He said.

I breathed out. "She's bigger then us." I stated. And he nodded before walking forward.

We walked up to First Born and reached my hand out. I felt her large red scales and looked up at her. She smiled and I smiled back.

"Why is she here?" Kai asked Faith. "She keeps track of the Dragon Masters movements." Faith stated. "How are you able to understand her?" Lloyd asked.

"She try's her bast but we don't really know what saying. I think she is able to understand us but I'm not sure." Faith stated.

I elbowed Kai and he rubbed his arm. "Is there somewhere privet we can...interact with First Born?" I asked Faith.

She nodded.

She led us to an old arena like thing. Two large caged areas on each size but they looked uncared for and unused.

There where also chains. To large for and human. Dragons I thought.

"Why did you want to speak in privet?" Faith asked.

I shed my layers and her eyes went wide. First Borns eyes also seamed to go wide.

I then transformed and looked down at them. Faiths hands moved to her mouth as Kai also started to shed his layers.

"You Too?!" She questioned him. He also transformed. And we looked up a First Born.

"Your Dragonborn!" She spoke backing up a bit. Her voice was old to be expected. But she was definitely shocked.

"You know about Dragonborn?" I asked stepping toward her.

She nodded. "After we created the First Spinjitzue Master we attempted another. Of course we wanted it to be more dragon like. Unfortunately the one we created ran to the first and we have not heard of either since." She explained.

I was not expecting as easy of an explanation as that but I took it and nodded.

Kai then stepped forward. He bowed his head. "You have been keeping up with this dragon master." He started. He then rose his head.

"Is there anything on the Ninjago realm?" He asked.

She nodded. "There was talk of two dragons who could "change the outcome" but we still have no information on what the outcome is." She said.

Kai cocked his head. "We?" He questioned. "My dragons also help. They hide among the controlled and gain information." She explained.

"We are the dragons that could "change the outcome" I'm betting." I said. "It would make sense. You two have the ability to blend in with humans and dragons alike." First Born stated.

"But they were also capturing elemental masters back in Ninjago...the question is really what the elemental master have." Kai said.

"There elemental dragons? But they are controlled by there element..." I stated.

"There's to much unknowns at this point. But what we do know is they are using dragons by mind controlling them using a plant...we need a way to get rid of the plant." First Born explained.

Kai and I nodded. "The Dragon Master comes by ever month or so demanding dragons. We have to oblige or he burns the city. Three have fell to his dragons fire." First Born said.

"And with us around I bet he'd be on high alert." Kai said with a low growl.

I nodded. "He is coming tomorrow which is why I came in the first place. To warn them." She said nodding to Faith who was speaking with Lloyd.

"We'll stay for tomorrow to see this Dragon Master. Talon and I can hide better then anyone if it comes to it." Kai explained and I nodded.

"It's smart but what about him." First Born nodded to Lloyd. "He is not supposed to be here. We where hoping one of your dragons could take him back." Kai asked.

First Born thought for a moment. "Some of my dragons were taken to Ninjago. They were not yet being controlled. Only some have returned." She explained.

Kai straightened his back. "I was able to free most but I believe some stayed for Ninjago's protection. Although I'm unsure if Ninjago is the safest for them which is why I wanted Lloyd to stay back."

"I will send a dragon back with your friend and a message with what has been going on to my other dragons." First Born stated. "In the mean time you two will stay in hiding. Until this dragon master leaves." First Born said.

Kai and I nodded. "Although it pains my to leave such important dragons in the path of the Master of Dragons I trust you two." She said bowing her head.

"Leaving?" I questioned. First Born rose her head "They are also after me. I am the mother of dragons. I must stay out of it." She said. I nodded.

"Then it's a plan." Kai said looking over at Lloyd and Faith.

This was one of my favourite chapters to write and I don't know why :)
