Lying in my bed, playing with words
Feeling funny, wanna make something absurd
My dark humor wants to come out and play
Intrigued, I give in and listen to what it has for me today:
"Lying is safe, it keeps the can closed
One truth, and it'll release all the worms
Shut yourself away, don't talk
Hide your emotions beneath an unsuspecting rock
Smile till they believe it just like you faux do
Not everything has to be what it appears to
Go out and mingle, pretend all is fine
Come back home and drown in wine
It numbs the pain, it kills a part of you too
But it brings you nothingness, so it helps you through
The world goes black, your feels heart compliant
The noises in your brain finally become quiet
"Doze off to sleep on the sofa right there
Wake up with a gigantic headache hard to bear
Swallow the Advil, get on with the day
Remember to smile to keep the questions away
Make them talk about themselves so they leave you alone
Nod along and agree to their dull droning moans
It makes you hollow inside and someday it will make you scared
But the feeling will disappear as soon as it came
"Your eyes will become empty
Every joy will be fleeting
That's when you know you are broken beyond recovery
Enjoy your personal hell, lemme know how it goes
I live next door to you and your foes
Those voices are back but now they're your friends
I gotta go now, text me how it ends ;)"

A/N: I got a kick out of writing this. How'd you like the read?
This one started exactly how I mention at the start of the poem. I was lying in my bed and trying to fall asleep when this shit just rained down on me piece by piece. I was a little groggy cuz I had tucked myself in, but I threw off my blankets to pen this one down because I love humoring my dark side.
Maybe I should stop? Lol idk.
I wrote it from the second para onwards that day but I felt that it was incomplete so I didn't post it. I waited till I could think of a suitable intro. I tried a lot of different ones but none of them felt right. I finally came up with the present intro today and felt that it was the right fit since it ties together the story I wanted to tell. So yeah, that's how this poem came to be.
I wrote another piece today, so be on a lookout cuz I might drop that soon too <3
PS: This poem is meant to be (darkly) humorous. Please don't take this ill advice seriously. It's a warning for those who are at crossroads in their life. Don't choose the darkside. I know I mention how things will go south if you follow them, but I still just want to clear this up. I've been to that point where you're all hollow inside and push everyone away till you're extremely lonely inside. It's a really tough spot to recover from. The best thing to do is steer clear of it, trust me.
If you're sad or depressed, I urge you to talk to someone close to you or someone that you trust. Seek help. You will not be disappointed. People who love you care more than you think they do.
