The Book of One Shots

my new dream [eugenzel]

{This is basically a retelling of the scene in Tangled where Eugene dies from his point of view. I am now up to two Eugenzel one-shots, but I love Eugenzel too much. I'm going to stop talking and actually start writing.}

"Flower gleam and glow, let you power shine, make the clock reverse-"

"Rapunzel!" I said abruptly, or as abruptly as I could in my state,

"What?" She asked, devastated.

"You were my new dream." I breathed out, and tried my hardest to keep my eyes open, just to look at her beautiful face one more time.

"And you were mine." She sobbed. I smiled a little before I took in one last breath, and I knew that was it. I was happy though. At lease Rapunzel knew that someone, somewhere had loved her at least once in her life. Heck, if me dying meant her living, then how could that be anything but good.

I couldn't hear anything and I couldn't feel anything, and all I could see was black. Nothing interesting. I knew I was dead, but at the same time I didn't feel dead. I felt like there was a small thread holding me back. And then I heard it;

"Make the clock reverse, bring back what once was mine....what once was mine."

I felt something cool and wet land on my cheek, but in a matter of seconds it was gone, and I felt like that was it. I was actually leaving. Then, the crying stopped and the small, comforting hand on my chest was gone. I felt life come back into me, as if it had been waiting those agonizing few minutes for me to be revived.

"Rapunzel?" I murmured, my speech slightly slurred. She gasped.

"Eugene?"

"Did I ever tell you I've got a thing for brunettes?" I jokingly asked. She gasped again.

"Eugene!" She exclaimed and tackled me in a giant hug, and all I could do was hug her. Tighter. It was as if she was the only thing keeping me alive, which, I guess, she was.

We broke away from the hug, and Rapunzel laughed a little, before kissing me, and then I felt totally alive.

*Throws away fiftieth box of tissues* Ermagerd. I can't actually believe I just wrote that. Now I'm going to go and watch the movie again, and bawl my eyes out, and be a big baby. Yay! Anyway, I hope you liked that, though I'm not sure if I got all the dialogue correct, so if I got something wrong, just tell me. Also, drop a comment as to what ship you want a one-shot on next. byE!
