I woke up to a diverse amount of wet spots on my shoulder, neck, and chest. I fell more into the plush bed. It felt great being back home with her. The scent of the air was sweet. I felt the corners of my mouth curl and I heard her sweet giggles. I opened my eyes, and my fiancé was over me, on top of me. She looked up at me with a soft expression, even her smile was soft. "Good morning Bucky," she said even softer, but her voice laced with a deeper meaning. "Happy birthday." She leaned back down and kissed my jawbone. I chuckled at the slightly ticklish feeling.
"Good morning to you," I pulled her back from her, kissing me. "Thank you for the brilliant morning."
"Well, it'll get better. Wanna eat some breakfast?" She asked, setting her chin on my chest. "I made pancakes."
"I know, I can smell them," I smirked, running my hands through her soft raven hair. "They smell delicious, but..."
"But what?" her eyes traveled up and down my face as she waited in anticipation for an answer.
"I'd rather eat you for breakfast, instead of dessert," I smirked, watching her mouth open. Morana looked down and smiled. Once I saw her eyes again, my smirk dropped to a smile.
"If that happened, then we wouldn't leave this bed all day," she smiled, tracing my lightly drawn-out abs.
"True." I sat up from the shared bed. "Let's go eat!" I laughed loudly, making her jump. I threw her over my shoulder and walked to the kitchen when she jumped. Morana squirmed in my arms. When my head was close to her thighs, I loved it. I looked over and gently kissed her butt, which was not covered by my shirt. I set her down on the dining table and kissed her. There was no need to pull out the chair. There was a good, sturdy table that her curvy body could set on. Her thighs perfectly flattened out, and it made me smile.
She didn't change the kitchen. It was the same as before, minus the picture of us when we were in Colorado for vacation. I hung from a basketball hoop and she remained on the ground. We kissed that evening, and I saw a whole new side of her that night. She was very nurturing that night with her nephew, and that was the night I wanted to have what the rest of her family had.
I wanted a family with her. The day she and our friends showed me the city was also the time she asked me to move in with her, into a new home. I hope I will never forget those nights. We'd only been home for a night and I had already found a home for us. She was asleep, and I was up scrolling through websites looking for an hour before I saw the damn place.
"Do you want one of your presents?" She asked, pulling away from me.
"Yes please," I responded, moving out of the way once she jumped off of the table.
"The first one is the card for me to only say yes to you until midnight," she smiled, looking in defeat based on her little sigh. Morana handed me a handmade card: This is for you James, I (Morana your fiancé) say "yes" to whatever you want until midnight. I trust so with my life, so don't ruin that trust, Barnes. Use it wisely! -Love Morana O̶d̶i̶n̶ Barnes
"Oh, I'm going to abuse that so well," I smirked, grabbing dishes from a cabinet. "What about my second one?" I questioned, even though just having her was enough for me.
"It was supposed to be the tattoo, but you figured it out in Colorado," she smiled, putting pancakes on both plates. "Will, has a gift for you too, just warning ya'."
"Thank you," I smiled. I sat down at the table and Morana sat next to me. "I love you."
"I love you too, James," she smiled, kissing my cheek. I will always want to hear those words coming from her mouth. The first night was everything when I heard them. "How are the pancakes?" She questioned.
"Perfect as always," I smirked, taking her resting hand in mine. "Plans?"
"Well, it's your birthday, and I planned a dinner for us with Quinn and William, so the rest of the time is ours," her eyebrows knitted to the center of her head and she had a very quizzical look.
"When's the dinner?" I asked her. I questioned whether there were two complete lists I wanted to complete by tonight. The first list was just full of sex ideas. Next were ideas from the city; just traveling around the city and seeing attractions and the water. I always wanted to visit the Air and space museum.
Something knowing that those aircraft have gone into the sky just sounds like a perfect escape from the ground. Space was always an interest. There's no beginning or end to space. Space was just a never-ending book. Space was dark, but every dark thing has a dominant color behind it, aside from the black holes, those sound scary.
"It's a new place, a little away. That's all the information I can give you, babe," she explained, vaguely. I know where she must have got this type of secrecy, the interviews she watched for the comfort of her favorite actors and actress. Her dad, who was a slightly scary man, also taught her.
"That's it? Only dinner for me?" I smiled. She understood that I only wanted time with her. "I just want to be with you today. It doesn't have to be extravagant," I assured her, taking my dirty dish to the sink.
"But it's your birthday..." she whined. "I'm sure you have several lists in that thick head of yours." Morana pushed me aside and grabbed the dirty plates from my hands.
"Several? How about two lists, doll?" I strutted behind her and held her hips. My hands around her body just made me protective of her, like she needed to be guarded 24/7. I wanted my men parked across the street at all times if I'm here or not. She reminded me that:
"There are children in this neighborhood... I can protect myself... I don't want your protection in my home." Those last words hurt. They'd simply be across the street, not in her home. She was more than capable of staying safe, but that doesn't mean she can prevent fresh scars. The first time I ever came back here, she'd been different, heavily. Her face had a gash, she said she was pistol-whipped and just "glue it back up with super-glue". I later saw a bruise on her back and she couldn't sleep unless I was holding onto her. That bruise was disgusting. It was large. It looked like a virus or a symbiote spreading over her body, and you could see it. She was purple and green and looked like a person from the movie.
"And what are on those two lists? My sexy, and adorable, over-protective fiancé?" I felt her butt press against my flannel pants. Her nightshirt, really his-my shirt, lifted, and I got a glimpse of the panties she was wearing. Her go to was my boxer briefs, but she was wearing bright blue bikinis.
"Which list first?" I asked, looking out of the window at her kitchen.
"Umm, you always want to add to our sex life, so the one about sex?" I saw her doe eyes in the reflection.
"You'll see."
