I watched as Morana was waiting for her snack while everyone else was talking. They were catching up. I wasn’t paying attention, because Morana took hold of me. It was the way she nervously interacted with people. Morana’s elbows rested on the counter and her hips were displayed for everyone to see. Given her bellbottoms were covering her skin, but still I know how most mean think, and some are just a little perverted. I was just staring at her until her dad asked me something.

“Did you get Morana anything for her birthday? Or was Comic-con the only thing?” he questioned. She was warming up to celebrating her birthday. I was feeling butterflies and glad she was experiencing something out of her comfort zone.

“Yes, I got her a… Special piece of jewelry,” I answered. I knew the moment I walked into that jewelry store I would not walk out empty-handed. I came out with an engagement ring and her present.

“Oh wow, you must really love her. I remember I was the only man who ever bought her jewelry.” He made me smile. “Do I get to know what you got her?”

“You will,” I smiled. I might not know the man who raised Morana, but I hear about him enough to know that he will never have to buy her a piece of jewelry again.

“Do I at least get to see the humble home you both have?” he questioned.

“If you’d like,” I said.

“What are two talking about?” Morana questioned, as her dad moved over for her to get into the booth. “Do I get to know?”

I laughed. “In a little while.” Her smile made everything better. She was assuring everything. Her shoulders were back, her back was straight. And her gaze? It was heavenly, like always.

“And I was going to say something, but my parents are here,” she laughed softly. “Wanna a bite?” she offered. She had a spoonful of ice cream. It was a brief gesture she always had done. She shared desert, but not main courses.

“Sure,” I smiled, as she lifted her spoon for me to take a bite.

“Are you his mother?” William questioned.

“I’m a better mom than his real mom is,” Morana shrugged.

“Morana Lily Odinson, you can’t say shit about someone’s mom,” her mom scolded her. “Have you even met his mom?”

“She’s as bad a Dagmar,” Quinn laughed. I still don’t understand their reference, but I understand Morana doesn’t want to “scare me away”. It’s not possible. She could kill anyone, and I’d still love her with everything I have. Morana wasn’t capable of killing anyone I loved. That’s why she couldn’t kill Billy. I let my heart leave my body those few nights. I had no soul while she was gone. She took every piece of me with her.

“Just because I haven’t called Mor mommy yet means nothing,” I sighed. I didn’t regret what I said either. I won’t call Morana “Mommy” until I make her one.

“I called Quinn mommy,” William said, receiving a mad look from Quinn.

“Yeah, I heard all about it,” Morana smiled.

“Brooklyn, you better not call my daughter mommy, until she’s a mom,” her dad threatened. He wasn’t as threatening as I thought he would be for a dad. Hearing his little girl took a bullet for a man she was recently engaged too. He didn’t know about the engagement. I was glad my head wasn’t on stake, warding off of all the other men from her.

“Not possible,” Will whispered.

“Bitch, at least I can give orgasms.” Morana crossed her arms. “And my face is fuck-able.”
