When the new week approached and Monday began, everyone would normally feel disdain as they dreaded Monday's. This was no different for Alexa of course. There was just something about the first day of the week that rubbed everybody up the wrong way.

Her morning consisted of the usual mundane activities. She'd prepare for her day at work and then leave early to avoid traffic because it was one thing the woman just couldn't stand.

Her hatred for traffic was far more superior than the hatred she felt towards Monday and decaf coffee. Which meant the woman absolutely despised being stuck in between cars, barely moving - bumper to bumper.

She assumed it was going to be her regular work day but most of the new staff members were starting today and that included her personal assistant. She didn't like the idea of having an assistant because the job description sounded atrocious.

If she couldn't picture herself going down that career path, why would anyone else want to do it? Willingly. Unfortunately she wasn't left with a choice because her workload was becoming heavier by the day and she needed help. Otherwise she wouldn't even be able to rest on weekends.

The man's name was Dante, she remembered being present last week whilst he was being interviewed but as per usual she couldn't sit through the entire process because there were a million other things that required her attention - urgently.

Alexa pulled up at her office building fifteen minutes after leaving her house and parked in her designated spot. The parking bay was still empty because she was usually the first one to arrive but when she turned the corner she saw a black C-class Mercedes Benz parked on the far end of the parking space.

She frowned slightly, trying to figure out who's car that was. It didn't look familiar so she automatically knew it belonged to someone who started working today.

The sound of her heels clicking against the concrete floor echoed in the empty, quiet parking area which created an eerie affect. The sun was only beginning to rise so that didn't help the situation at hand and Alexa shivered while she walked.

She turned around to see if anyone was there but was met with silence and emptiness. She couldn't reach the elevator fast enough and pushed the button. Due to the fact that nobody was in the building the doors immediately opened and the woman stepped inside.

The rest of the building was no different, she was surrounded by emptiness and silence once again. She flicked her wrist to check the time on her silver and gold watch, people normally arrived after seven.

She just always found it peculiar when the boss, manager or owner of the company started hours after everyone else. That didn't sit well with her, hence her being here before everyone else.

When she reached her floor she leisurely strolled towards her office and reached into her bag to grab her keys. Once the door was unlocked she entered the room and left the door wide open.

Alexa wanted to ensure that Dante felt welcomed on his first day and a closed door didn't really scream welcome. If anything, it would portray quite the opposite.

She placed her handbag in the cabinet situated behind her desk and then sat down in her black leather chair, preparing to answer a few emails and check all the relevant documents that were forwarded to her for reviewing purposes.

Minutes blended into hours and before Alexa could process what was happening, there was a knock that sounded on her door. She was too engrossed in reading and responding to emails that she hadn't realised an entire hour had passed her by.

She looked up and saw Emily standing in the doorway with Dante right behind her. "Alexa this is Dante, your personal assistant." She gestured for him to enter and he obliged. "Dante this is Alexa, the boss but don't be fooled by her serious expressions. She's really .. nice."
