She should have elbowed him in the stomach. She should have but she didn't and now Alexa asked herself why? Why did she allow that man to get so close to her, to touch her, to whisper inappropriate words into her ear.

There was clearly something about him and she didn't even know what it was but it felt like she was under hypnosis. His azure eyes had her in a trance and it felt like she watching an episode of a fantasy series where the main character could use mind control on you.

That's the logical explanation she thought. It was mind control.

Pathetic excuse.

Alexa cringed when she thought about the shorts she wore. Her ass was on display for him to see and she knew he was staring at her figure.

Emily still didn't know what happened and finally dropped the subject when she noticed that Alexa was adamant and not going to reveal anything.

The receptionist was curious and tried to think of scenarios that Alexa could have possibly experienced that made her want to leave with such haste. She knew something happened because her friend was completely fine when they went their separate ways.

Alexa and the marketing team were currently in the boardroom discussing the negative and positive aspects for the previous month. They were devising their plan moving forward and trying new tactics to ensure they kept up with the latest trends.

Alexa couldn't stress it enough - if they wanted to be successful when it came to marketing they needed to remain relevant whilst maintaining the qualities and standards of the business.

They just needed to find methods that worked for them. Once the meeting had concluded Alexa and the rest of the team made their way back to their offices.

Alexa clicked the elevator button and it took a few minutes before reaching the floor she was on. The team waited alongside her because they were going up too and she indulged in small talk in the meantime.

When the elevator doors opened Alexa got the biggest fright of her life because she made direct eye contact with the man that had been the antagonist in her dreams. Those dreams must've been nightmares then.

Everyone else stepped inside of the elevator whilst Luca exited. The tension was thicker than a bowl of oatmeal that had been standing on a kitchen countertop for a few hours. Luca couldn't take his eyes off her and he didn't want to either because he could instantly tell that it was making her nervous.

The chemistry between them was undeniable and it didn't require a rocket scientist to figure that out.

They were overheating and felt the electricity surrounding them the longer they stared at each other. Alexa finally realised why she couldn't inflict any physical damage to him and it was like an epiphany for her - she was extremely sexually attracted to him.

She just did a phenomenal job and at masking the attraction and pretending like he didn't even exist. The day he came for his interview she knew he was a handsome man but it was when their eyes met in the lobby as they passed each other that unlocked the feeling.

If only she knew that Luca was instantly attracted to her the second they met. When they shook hands it caused a burning sensation that travelled up his arm and then spread like wildfire to the rest of his body.

Now he may have had the upper hand but he still didn't know how he would execute his plan without coming across as completely deranged, even though that's exactly what he was.

He used his mysterious demeanour to his advantage. Everybody assumed that he was rather innocent and sweet but he was fucking crazy. Especially when it came to a woman he was seeing.
