ALEXA

My jaw dropped, my eyes nearly bulged out of its sockets and my heart sank into the deep fiery depths of hell. I knew my best friend was crazy but this was absolutely deranged. Pure madness.

"What the fuck Emily?" She smiled at me and then hooked her arm into mine, pulling me across the street along with her.

The cool breeze nipped against my skin and I shivered due to the lack of clothing.

"Look," She started off but I decided to listen to her reasoning - sighing heavily when we had crossed the street and came to a standstill. "I know this is way out of your comfort zone."

"You don't say." The annoyance and sarcasm was easily detectable in my voice as I interrupted her.

"Which is exactly why I decided to bring you with me. Even though you've changed, I still know you Alexa because you're my best friend." She stated and I listened attentively. "You used to be quite the extrovert a few years ago and then slowly that changed. You always told me that comfort and growth didn't correlate. I've been wanting to come to this place and I thought what better person to join me than my best friend?"

I crossed my arms over my chest and felt the slightest tug on my heartstrings while Emily spoke because she was stating things that I've been purposely avoiding.

"I don't know if something happened in your life that you refuse to talk about, so I've watched you become this version of yourself which I still love but allow yourself to step out of that place of comfort and familiarity. All I'm asking is that you have an open mind. If you feel uncomfortable at any point we'll leave. And this is nothing like the clubs and bars you detest so much so that has to count for something."

The frown on my face disappeared and I could feel all of my features softening. I pursed my lips together and rolled my eyes, releasing a deep breath. "I hate it when you're right." Emily giggled and shimmied because she knew what came next. "I'll be more open minded. You have my word."

Emily dragged me along with her towards the entrance. She showed the concierge a matte black card and he pointed her in the right direction.

The club was situated inside of a prestigious hotel which was quite the conundrum considering what kind of establishment it was.

Whilst getting ready my worst fear was that at some point in the evening I'd have a wardrobe malfunction. Now my worst fear was someone I knew, seeing me at this place.

I suppose that would be awkward for them too but the second hand embarrassment I'd feel would quite literally kill me.

We walked pass the reception area, took a left down a long hallway and then entered two double doors. Once again there were two gentlemen waiting to see the card Emily had.

Whilst she conversed with the scary looking men, I scanned the area and tried to absorb my new surroundings.

This was unfamiliar territory for me and my heart was pounding against my rib cage but for some odd reason, my curiosity was heightened.

The ambience was sensual, the lights were dimly lit creating a warm glow - the music playing in the background was calming and added to the dark, mysterious atmosphere.
