Fire flowed through Sabin's veins and he felt pure rage. He wanted to maim any and every one nearby. It was why Sabin held back. This side effect was manageable in small doses, but all at once was unpredictable.
A spear flashed towards him, but he didn't move. He caught it in his palm. Yulan pulled to no avail, so he threw the other. Sabin plunged the spear into the ground and shadowed behind Yulan.
He thrust for the man's throat.
Wade froze inches from Yulan's neck, the tip vibrating.
"What was that Wade?"
The sword did not respond.
Yulan gritted his teeth and rushed him. He was a speedy blur and Sabin's eyes had trouble keeping up. He grabbed both spears by the handles and began struck. It was all Sabin could do to keep from becoming a human pincushion.
I'll kill you!
His sword sliced for Yulan's midsection, but he slammed his spears down and stopped Sabin in mid-stroke.
Sabin's muscles strained as he tried to press through his brother's defense. The veins on Yulan's neck bulged.
Eyes locked with Yulan, Sabin mustered all of the strength he could. Yulan's spears relented and the man's eyes bulged.
With a guttural scream, Sabin heaved and Yulan's spears launched into the air. He spun and swung Wade towards Yulan's neck-
-and stopped.
Wade nicked the man's neck but went no further, no matter how hard Sabin tried to push.
"Wade!"
"Yo. sho... no. ki.. an...er Ser.en," Wade said. "Re...er tha..."
His body stepped back against his will.
"This is my body, Wade!"
Wade did not speak.
Sabin fought for control and took a jerking step backwards. The returned to Yulan's hands.
"He was dead, Wade! Dead!"
Suddenly, his body returned to his control.
He dodged Yulan's spear tosses. Yulan's fists, however, did not miss.
The first caught him across his jaw. He blocked the second with his forearm and head-butted Yulan in the nose. Then he swung the flat of his blade at his ribs.
Air whooshed from Yulan's lungs, but Sabin's legs were frozen in place. He could not press his advantage.
"That is it, Wade!"
Sabin stabbed his sword into the ground and pulled even as his right hand stuck to the hilt. The left hand grabbed for it, but he maintained control and sent it backwards.
Yulan dropped to one knee and wrapped his hands around his ribs.
Sabin got control of the rest of his body, but the hand was still glued to Wade.
Yulan pushed to his feet.
Sabin pulled with all of his might. His hand yielded and came away from Wade.
Most of his hand anyway.
Tears fell and he screamed, looking down at his now palm-less hand. He accelerated his healing, fascinated to see the flesh on his hand knit itself.
I don't need a weapon to end you.
Yulan spears rotated at his sides, but he did not form into his stance. His arms hung limp and his back hunched.
