Eleven

Malakas kong sinangga ang braso niya gamit ang paa ko. Yumuko ako para umikot at sipain siya pabalik. It directly hit his neck and he staggered back, holding it.

Pagtingin niya sa 'kin, nanlaki ang mga mata ko sa gulat pero nagawa kong ipagtanggol ang sarili ko sa apoy na dinirekta niya sa 'kin. Binalot ko ang sarili ng makapal na tubig. Nawala ito kasabay ng pag-apula ng kakaibang apoy sa mga paa ko. Sa paligid ko naman ay nandoon pa rin ang malawak na hilera ng apoy. Malakas pa rin ito kahit na patuloy ang pag-ulan.

As I look at this guy in front of me, nothing is different from his appearance. Mukha siyang normal na tao unlike me na nagiging puti ang buhok kapag ginagamit ang powers ko. He has a tall build and black hair. Nakasuot siya ng pantalon na may kadenang nakasabit malapit sa bulsa at rockband shirt.

He smirked. "That gold crest you're wearing... Is it some sort of protection from supernatural attacks?"

Napahawak ako sa necklace na walang ibang disenyo kundi simpleng bilog lamang na pendant. "This is more than a protection charm. It deflects every ill-fated attacks toward the one who wears it."

I found this in Klaus' library that day when Hyatt, Devon and I teamed up to pull the whole wrecked room from the ocean. Inabot pa ako ng isang oras para lang alisin ang tubig sa bawat sulok nito at sa laman ng mga libro. Nagpahinga ako sa beach noon habang kinakalkal nila ang bawat shelf. Lahat daw ng libro doon ay may kinalaman sa supernatural at magic. We decided to keep them all for reference at may nakita pa ako doong spell book para sa mas effective at prolonged na rain summoning.

And in a secret compartment under the carpet was this necklace and mother's journal.

Itinaas ni fire user ang kilay at itsurang nag-iisip. "Then that means I can't burn you alive and kill you with explosives and gunpowder."

"That means..." Tinipon ko ang tubig sa paligid ko at ginawa itong matutulis na yelo. "You cannot kill me."

Paglapit sa kanya ng mga ito, it stopped midair and began to melt. Hindi siya gumalaw sa kahit anong paraan pero nagawa pa rin niyang tunawin ang yelo. Bumuga ako ng hangin at umayos ng tayo. Kahit umuulan, alam kong pinagpapawisan pa rin ako.

"You have some kind of protection, too?" I asked.

"Nah. It's because my body constantly emits heat when I'm at my limit."

"Hohoho." I smirked. "You're at your limit?"

"Shut up!" He looked so annoyed and out of character. Somehow, ang cute niyang tingnan kapag nagagalit. "Unlike a god like you, my power has its own limit. If it dies down, I'll just be an ordinary human that you can kill anytime."

I tilted my head to the side. "How did you know that I'm a god?"

"I've never seen a water user stronger than you. When I scanned the data of every human with supernatural abilities, those who can control water are unable to call the rain or even make ice out of it. They simply bend water."

Kung ganon, interesado ang kalaban namin sa mga taong may kakaibang talento.

"Why did you join them?" I suddenly felt asking.

"Just out of boredom." He stared at me. "Sumama lang ako dahil akala ko may mga katulad akong fire user. It turns out I was the only one and the others are too weak to handle their own powers. Mukha rin namang malapit na kaming matalo. There's nothing for me to do. So keep me interested okay, Water God?"

Ha? "What kind of idiocy is that? At bakit marunong kang magsalita ng Tagalog?"

"Because I can. My mom's a Filipina."

"Really!?" Na-excite kong tanong. "My friends are Filipino too!"

"I'm not asking."

"Meron ka rin bang mga kaibigan na katulad natin?"

"Nah. I live by myself. And I travel anywhere. Basically, I don't care about them." Napakurap siya at sinamaan ako ng tingin. "Hoy, 'wag mo ngang ibahin ang usapan! At bakit ang dami mong tanong? Can't you just continue fighting me?"

"If I continue attacking you, wouldn't you just deflect it and vice versa? In short, we're just using our energy for nothing. I'm getting tired too, you know."

Earth, fire, water, and wind are the major elements of nature and equally powerful. But they would just nullify each other's attacks if they are used as magic.

That's what I read in one of Klaus' books.

"Then just entertain me with your powers," utos niya. "I guess you always do that whenever you use it. Water is the kindest element of nature after all."

What! Tingin ba niya nagtatrabaho ako sa circus? "What makes you think I'm doing this for your amusement? How mean!"

"What a child."

"I'm not a child!"

He seems annoyed now. "Look. I don't like underrating your abilities as a god. If we're fighting seriously, I would lose. But it doesn't mean you can leave unscathed."

"But you didn't, right?" I smiled. "You were even careful not to hit my head."

Mukha siyang nahiya at inalis ang tingin sa 'kin. "How did you know that?"

Eh! How can a rockstar be so cute? I immediately tapped the water on the ground and the rain stopped. Patalon akong lumapit sa kanya at niyakap siya.

"H-Hey!"

When our bodies touched, steam went off in between. It's like coal being showered with water but still able to emit fire.

"I hug people when they're cute!" sabi ko. Pero gusto ko lang talaga siyang tumigil sa pag-atake.

"Get off! You know this is a war, right?"

Tiningnan ko ang pagbabago ng langit mula sa maulap hanggang sa unti-unti na itong nagkakaroon ng liwanag. Naglaho ang mga natitirang kalaban na parang bula. Then I looked at this guy. "Judgement day has ended. Luckily, you were spared."

"What the heck does that mean?"

"Your name?" seryoso kong tanong. I forced him to meet my eyes and I hugged him harder.

He flinched and his face reddened. "R-Raven."
