Chapter 3

Cassie's P.O.V

I get an urgent call from Echo saying that he needs me to meet at his place as soon as possible. He asks me to dress in something formal, so I go to my closet and start searching, I find my light blue lace dress with a dark brown ribbon and put it on. Yay! I'll get to see Lupin! I look in the mirror to make sure I look alright before I leave my room.

"You look nice, darling," my mom says when I walk into the kitchen. "Are you going on a date?"

"Just a meeting mom," I laugh at her frown.

"Well, be careful." I give her a hug and then head over to Echo and Angie's house.

I can see Jaxons black ford in the driveway. Whew, I feel relief that I won't be the first one there. I wonder what this meeting is about. I enter the door and immediately ask, "Do you know what this meeting is about?" Jaxon just shakes his head. I sit on the couch just as Lupin emerges dressed in black and white, it suits him really well.

When he gets to the bottom stair he looks at me, my dress. "You look nice," he says. I get all flustered and thank him. He comes and sits next to me. He smells incredible! I just want to pull him to me and smell his hair and get his sent all over me. I want to smell it forever. Echo comes down next, in his royal blue, but I can clearly see how nervous he is. Axl and his mate arrive, I feel a little envious about how they can love each other up. Keep cool, think if Lupin when he's older and all yours I tell myself to keep from letting it slip. Ang is the last one down, she looks gorgeous, I laugh about how she teases Echo.

Echo paces and counts us, I can hear motorcycles in the distance... oh god! It's them! I start to feel uncomfortable as the sound gets closer until it's roaring just outside. I can hear voice, Akantha and her mates. Lupin moves and I tell him not to.

Echo lets them in, he stutters. They are completely disrespectful towards Echo and make fun of him for being human. I keep my eyes down, biting my lip trying not to draw attention to myself. Slowly getting angry with how Akantha talks to Echo and Angie.

Akantha gets my attention when she says "I came to meet the boy."

I watch her as she comes closer to Lupin. I boil, how dare she get that close to him! How dare she call him hun! Get ahold of yourself, I inhale a large amount Lupin's scent and immediately feel calmer. She introduces herself and her mates to Lupin. I can physically feel how uncomfortable Lupin is. I wish there was something I could do about it. Akantha turns into her wolf, engulfing is in a dark glow, she doesn't notice me start to shake as she shows off. He's mine bitch! I growl as she gets closer to Lupin and slips something in his hand.

I can't hear what she says, but she stands in a seductive way in front of Lupin, but he clamps his eyes shut. Good boy! I glare at Akantha breasts being too close to Lupin.

I feel relief when they leave and without thinking I pull Lupin to me. "Lupin, you can open your eyes. Poor boy." I pat his head. He pushes back, I feel slightly sad.

"I'm fine! I want to kill her!" Me too!

Echo and Jaxon explain that it's easier said than done. "Mates? She has more than one?" I nod. "How?" Lupin asks.

"Some wolves just have more than one and others don't have one," I whisper, repulsed at the idea of having more than one.

Axl then proceeds to tell Lupin about how it's not very common to have more than one or fewer mates. Echo, gets a gloomy look on his face and I wonder why. Then he changes the subject to Echo and Angie's bedroom issues.

Echo tells him without sounding awkward about it at all. Jaxon leaves a few moments later claiming to be hungry, followed by Axl and his girl. I stay there, sitting with Lupin while I watch Echo pace the last of his nerves out on the floor.
