The smell of that chocolate melting, and those fluffy waffles puffing up. Oh yes, it was Daphne's favorite breakfast food. MAGIC WAFFLES!

Daphne sprang from her bed just as if she was still that ten year old girl ready to fight for the first waffle. Magic waffles are Jenna's special waffles that she makes for the family every summer. and Daphne can not get enough of those things! Finally, Daphne couldn't wait to get to those waffles so she jumped down the last 5 steps and raced to the kitchen where her mom and Jenna were talking.

"Jenna!! Are they ready? Please tell me the magic waffles are ready!" Daphne practically screamed.

"Honey, I love you but aren't you getting to old to be getting this worked up over waffles? I mean, you aren't 7 anymore." Joyce said to Daphne in a questioning tone.

"Nonsense! Joyce where is your summer spirit? Don't you remember my mother making these for us? This young woman can have as many waffles as she wants!" Jenna laughed and handed Daphne a plate of waffles.

Now that Daphne had chowed down on her favorite breakfast, she was ready to get out of the house. Since Toby was still sleeping, Daphne decided to go for a walk around the little town. Daphne had taken her walk around the town for as long as she could remember. And in this town (Called Lilaville) everybody knows everybody. Even the flower shop owner, Mrs. Shift, knew their families.

As Daphne walked she saw all those familiar sights she saw every year. There was the flower garden where the flowers started to bloom right around this time of year, and the cute little yapping puppies that are always hanging around outside the pet store. Finally, Daphne came upon the adorable, white flower shop and peeked inside looking for Mrs. Shift.

"Mrs. Shift? Are you in today? The sign says 'Open'?" Daphne says to what she thinks is an empty store.

"Come in! Come in deary! I have someone here I want you to meet!" Mrs. Shift said in her usual sing-song voice.

Daphne made her way to the back of the shop and found Mrs. Shift sitting amongst the sunflowers and red roses. And oddly there just so happens to be a very cute guy sitting next to her holding a lily.

"There is my favorite summer girl! Come on over here and meet my grandson, Jason" Mrs. Shift told Daphne.

"Hey I'm Jason," Jason said flashes that 100watt smile, "and you must be Daphne?"

"Yep that's my flow-I mean name!" Daphne babbled, embarrassed to have messed up in front of a cute guy.

Right then, Daphne got a message from Jenna saying that she had a surprise for her. "Great timing" Daphne thought to herself.

"I have really got to be going but great seeing you Mrs. Shift! And nice to meet you Jason!" Daphne waved goodbye and was almost out the door when Jason stopped her.

"Hey Daphne. We should hang out sometime," Jason said while handing Daphne the lily he had been holding.

"Sounds great!" Daphne said with her mind buzzing in a thousand directions at once.

Daphne arrives home still holding the delicate lily in her hands. She walks into the house expecting to see an open hallway and to be hearing laughter from the kitchen where Jenna and Joyce always were. Instead, Daphne was greeted at the door by Jenna who was buzzing with excitement.

"Daphne! Quick, run upstairs and put on something pretty! Not that you aren't already gorgeous but just go put on something comfy and cute and get back down here!" Jenna yelled in Daphne's face.
