"You're not focusing, Sabyr." A voice spoke out to me. She kept her distance. I stood at the edge, my arms down to my sides, my palms facing outward towards the horizon. My eyes stayed closed.
"I'm trying." I said as I struggled to let out the words, my mind racing.
"Focus. Eyes up." She spoke with such force and confidence, it was like she was inside my head. I followed her instructions and opened my eyes despite my mind's protests.
"100, at least." I spoke as I looked down over the fallen encampment below.
"Focus inward, not on what is in front of you." She said as she paced behind me. Her presence was intense. I couldnt even hear her move, but I could feel the power in her steps as she did.
"How do I know when I've made contact with the void, Ikora?" I spoke as a shudder ran through my light, purely at the thought.
"It will tell you. But unless you focus, you will never hear its whispers, even as you whisper to it." She spoke, this time coming closer behind me.
"I have heard its whispers in my dreams." I said, relinquishing my mind to hers and the open world around me.
"Does this feel like a dream to you, warlock?" She asked me somewhat rhetorically.
"No.." I responded with strain in my voice, as my gaze turned to the enemies below. I felt her presence behind me once again.
"Then release."
