He had planned to redirect and regulate his qi towards his head before he could get used to the dullness created by it. He also knew how repulsive he must look, yet Lan Zhan leaned into him, which made him all the more eager to look better, first.

But the incident of the paperman had told him that he needed to be prepared to defend Lan Zhan before any of that. After all, that was his purpose for coming to Guang Zhi Jia. So, instead, of healing his head, he healed his arm. He had left the breakfast, the lunch, the dinner and only came around to take the healing tea. He had done so for three days straight. The damages were not severe on his right side. He sat down for meditation for three whole days.

Lan Zhan, he knew was reading in the next room currently and would come over at the ninth bell. He felt reassured at Lan Zhan's presence and lost in meditation again.

"Wei Ying. Eat. Your body will suffer if you keep regulating your qi without any food." Lan Zhan was sitting before him when he came around again. He opened his eyes and looked past Lan Zhan from the cracks of the closed window that it was indeed night. He called back all the resentment circulating within him like blood and flexed his arm experimentally. He had kept the process of his healing to himself. When Lan Zhan was around, he only worked in a way to not expose himself. He didn't want Lan Zhan to know just yet. Besides, he only did what he could handle. Nothing for Lan Zhan to worry about.

"3 months." he realigned his goal marker. His arm flexed. His fingers were all together, all bone, blood, and muscle in the right places. His wrist and elbow which had been broken were also well connected and healed. The forearm break was put back together but there was a heaviness in it. The two upper arm breaks had healed too but they were not placed properly, as if a piece of bone between their connection was missing. A small chip.

Then he pulled back his tight control and qi flowed back in like it was one with his golden core. One more day of his qi doing its job and his right arm would be as movable as normal again.

"Lan Zhan. I really need to get clean."

"Eat first." Lan Zhan raised the bowl, which he hadn't noticed before resting between them. He opened his mouth and drank like he usually did. His stomach was barely getting used to the liquids. These were the first three days during his non-stop cultivation that he had not vomited blood. If he could keep that up for three more days, he could start consuming soupy solids as well. He had no time to ask Lan Zhan to add some spice to it. For one he couldn't handle it yet and for two, he had other more important matters to discuss.

"Look." Wei Ying raised his arm straight to Lan Zhan, only from the elbow, dare not move the shoulder. The shoulder wasn't broken, but the muscles were ruptured. When he could fix that the first thing he would do was take a satisfying stroke over Lan Zhan's pink-tinted ears.

Lan Zhan was surprised, "Take it slow."

"I don't think we have time for slow. I..."

"I'll clean Wei Ying." Lan Zhan volunteered unexpectedly and he laughed awkwardly.

"No. No. Lan Zhan. I can do it perfectly fine. See? This is why I healed my arm first." He did not miss the way Lan Zhan's eyes flicked to the top of his head.

"I will do it." he knew it was the end of the discussion, so he stayed silent, working through in his head on how to broach the topic. He wasn't planning on hiding the real reason from Lan Zhan forever, but he wanted to keep his thoughts to himself until they were proven. Not to mention he couldn't help but worry if Lan Zhan would be repulsed by what he saw under the layer of clothes.

He needed to be mentally prepared, "Let's do it tomorrow."

He turned to look at the pillow knowing it was still a month before he could make complicated movements like lying down. He contemplated between a free fall or asking LanZhan for help when Lan Zhan stood up to go behind the screen, "Do it now. Wei Ying can sleep-in in the morning."
