"I have a way to break the enchantment." Lady Lan's words echoed in the almost empty room.

ZeWu Jun turned around and waited.

"A bonded pair of enchanted Lan ribbons can break every enchantment from outside. Even if Hanguang Jun will not marry me, removing his enchantment is the more important. Any external influence on Hanguang Jun will be the devastation of the cultivation world."

"What is to say we do not already have them Lady Lan? No one can influence Wangji's heart apart from himself. He is immune to external controls."

"If it were so then how did Master Mo manage to wipe his memory? HE must have switched them sometime." The contempt in her voice for 'HE' was far too much.

ZeWu Jun sighed and explained, "Pair of Lan ribbons are protection from external influence on the mind and heart. Influence, not curses. Talismans, spells, and enchantments would not work but curses do, even if they don't hold. Even if Master Wei were to enchant Wangji into a relationship somehow, it would not hold. Moreover it was Master Mo who switched the ribbon not Master Wei."

He knew the couple outside was listening to them, so he stopped speaking and went ahead.

"Elder Lan would not do that to his own blood. It was a way to expose Wei Wuxian's dark deeds and his evil mind. You have to see reason ZeWu Jun. It was Wei Wuxian. He is evil. He is too deceitful, acting weak when he has the power to resist soul-pushing. He is the embodiment of a demon. I have seen with my own eyes how his energy is capable of surpassing even the Yang creature's influence. He could do the impossible. There is no way Hanguang Jun would turn a blind eye to a creature like that."

Zewu Jun could not help but pause. He could not bring himself to be angry at the misguided woman.

"What evils has he done Lady Lan?" he asked curiously, unsure about what had her so convinced?

"He..." she faltered. An idea struck him.

"Lady Lan it is perhaps you who should get a bonded pair of ribbons."

He finally opened the door and shut it. Outside, Master Wei was smiling at him bounding back and forth on his feet. Even looking pale he was still full of energy.

"Where is uncle?" his brother asked and he closed his eyes, feeling an ache between his brows. For a moment he wondered if he could find a way to enchant the ribbons for simple body ailments.

"Still preparing for the wedding."

"Does he know the yin iron is not with him anymore?" Master Wei asked.

"I am not sure. He seemed too engrossed in the preparations." he looked at the colorless skin and bowed to Master Wei in apology, "Let me ask for forgiveness on my uncle's behalf."

But Master Wei did not even let him bow completely.

"ZeWu Jun. Don't. I also wondered who had convinced whom but listening to the Lan secret about the ribbon I think you should get one for Grandmaster Lan as well. If he knew all these things he would never be convinced that someone could enchant Lan Zhan. He might be under a spell."

To say ZeWu Jun was embarrassed was an understatement. He was beyond ashamed. He glanced at his brother who raised his hands in a formal bow and he copied, bowing again.

"Aiii. What are you doing? Laaaaan Zhaaaaan."

Master Wei caught his arms instead of Wangji's.

"Apologising to Wei Ying. Uncle is under no spell. Brother would have checked it after the trip to Wish Mountain."

He nodded. He did.

"I am afraid it was uncle's own doing. How can I make amends for this?"

Wei Ying laughed, shocking him and his brother smiled bitterly too.
