"Jingyi. Write as I speak. Not a word here and there."
"Yes. Senior Wei." He closed his eyes and narrated the last attack incidences between Lan Zhan and him with as much detail as he could. In between Jingyi would pause and fill in if he had some relevant information.
When Shizhui was in Cloud Recess, he chose Shizhui and Zizhen, when Zizhen was in, to write it and vice versa. Jingyi was an unreliable option and telling Jingyi so angered the boy. He threatened to let Master Mo loose on him. But today, Zizhen was directing more villagers to their settlement while Sizhui was in Cloud Reccess. So, Jingyi it was. They wrote one account every week. Today was the last one as they wrote about Jin Ling and Lan Zhan's blood curse. They had both managed to create distance with the one that cursed them and the poisonous blood's effect diluted quickly.
As they worked, Lan Zhan was in a conference with Jin Ling discussing a passage from the last Jin tower to Guang Zhi Jia before Jin Ling had to set off to that tower. Jingyi would accompany him which is why they were working after lunch instead of their usual pre-lunch writing.
They finished just before dinner
Jingyi was done writing so he flipped back and read some of the accounts Sizhui and Zizhen had written. Reading them, he reported that Cloud recess had no place for more prisoners. Many of them were demanding to have Lady Lan burnt for controlling their minds.
They simply blamed their own misjudgment on the woman. But he had no sympathy for her as he had no love for the sects, even before Jingyi told him of what she had done while he was gone. But they needed to keep her for interrogation, to figure out what was going on. Who was involved and how?
Just to shut the mouth of other sects and keep Lady Lan safely in Guang Zhi Jia many of the prisoners had been sent back to their sect which wasn't ideal. Now they, they needed a solution to confine Master Mo. Since they had no evidence, he roamed about freely between his quarters and the conference hall. In secrecy he also visited Deng Shi after sunset.
But Lan Zhan had raised up the wards after that one incidence of lowering them, so nothing went in or out, not even sound. He wanted to create special talismans for the boys and Lan Zhan so that they could come in and out any time but it also meant putting them in danger as Master Mo would try to discover what or how the wards could be made selective.
He sighed knowing there was nothing for him to do with those punishments. He instructed Jingyi, "update that under Sizhui's account."
But Jingyi's mind was wandering elsewhere, "Senior Wei. Why are we keeping an eye on Master Mo and not putting him under house arrest at least?"
They had finished writing one incidence into the book marked "attack", "It's no use since he can use teleportation talisman to free himself."
"But Hangunag Jun can enchant the place so the talisman doesn't work."
"I am sure he can but we want him to stay free, thinking we don't know it is him. Him thinking that we don't like him is better than him thinking we are on to him. More so, we need to find out what his bigger plan is. If this bigger plan is Hanguang jun. We are off so much better than if his plan is something like the Yin iron or the Yang creature."
"He'll try to hurt you then. How is it better? You should be more considerate of how Hangunag Jun would feel if anything happened to you."
He laughed hearing Lan Zhan at the door paused, "Nothing will happen to me. You can rest assured for your Hanguang Jun," he added a teasing tone to the last word knowing Lan Zhan would hear it. The hearing range was a bit frustrating but also helpful. Their usual hearing was hampered by the incantation on Deng Shi and the Silence charm over the house was only useful for others as Master Mo seemed to have a workaround.
