"Girl I'm so damn tired and ready to go and I just got here." Lani rolled her eyes walking into the lab. E chuckled continuing to type on the computer.

"Aren't you supposed to be tending to patients?" She questioned glancing over at her before pushing her glasses up on her face.

"Mmtch I was then this rude ass patient through her breakfast at me so I had to change and then I got sent to come get the refill of Diazepam." She sighed.

E hummed carefully hopping down from her stool to go get the requested medication. While she did so Lani watched her move around the lab gather things.

She admired her best friend and how pretty she looked with her baby bump. It amazed her how noticeable it was with her only being 3months.

"You look so pretty best you needa wear your glasses more." Lani gushed causing E to blush slightly. "Thank you." She muttered quietly.

"Here you go." E handed her the case of medicine refills before logging that she'd refilled them. "Thank you Pooh." Lani blew her a kiss before exiting.

E chuckled shaking her head, she loved her best. She walked back to her seat sitting down and sighing. She'd only been here for about six hours and she had eleven more to go.

After her and Ky left the hotel he took her home to get changed before taking her to work where she had a seventeen hour shift.

She worked in a lab connected to an hospital where some of her schools medical, chemistry, and biology students who were in the SX program worked.

It was a program to help them do hands on work while learning about what they were studying as well as getting paid.

She was the head scientist of the lab where all of the medications were made. They also worked with patients when the hospital was understaffed.

E was still tired from her night/morning with Ky and her feet were hurting her. She took her shoes off massaging her feet softly.

After a while she got back to filling out order sheets for product restocks.

I was in the middle of putting up some medicines when I heard my phone ring in the front room. I closed the glass door before hurriedly limping to answer.

This is why I wear an Apple Watch.

Right before it could stop ringing I answered seeing Ky pop up on the screen. "Fuck took you so long ta answer." He mugged me and I rolled my eyes sitting down in my chair trying to catch my breath.

"I was in the back room. Sorry." I panted lightly. Dang. Im so tired. "Why you breathing like a fat bitch or sum." He furrowed his brows at me.

"Don't say that. That's offensive." I looked at him surprised. "Mmtch only somebody who know they fat as hell gone be offended." He shrugged nonchalantly.

"Anyways, where are you going?" I squinted my eyes trying to look at his surroundings. "You so nosy. And I'm finna go handle sum." He leaned back in his seat unintentionally licking his lips.

"Mmm, what time is the cookout." I said yawning while resting my eyes. A nap is calling my first, both my middles, and last name.

"Four but we not going to a lil later into it. You straight?" I hummed and nodded. "Im just a little sleepy." I said softly sitting up opening my eyes.

"You want me to pick you up?" He furrowed his brows slightly. I knew he wanted to but I had bills to pay. So I'll have to sleep later.

"No bby I'm fine." I pushed my glasses up on my face. Before he could say anything else an receptionists voice rung through the lab phone.

"Dr.Reign there's an order for more Lidocaine." I furrowed my brows a little confused on how we're already out. I just sent 100 refills.

Picking up the phone so that I could reply I put it to my ear. "Hi, how is that when I restocked them three days ago?"

"Yes, I see that on the record. A neighboring hospital was in extreme need of some." I sighed taking my glasses off and rubbing my eyes.

"Please inform everyone that before lending any and every medication that leaves my lab must be approved by me. The chemicals that make these meds aren't cheap." I made sure to make it clear that I meant what I said.

"Yes ma'am. Our apologies."

"It's fine. Is there anything else I can help you with?" I put my glasses back on looking up at Ky to see him rolling up. He's so handsome.

"Yes, a few of your students have papers for you to approve. Would you like for me to send them down?"

"Yes please."

"Alright bye."

"Bye." I hung up the phone then began typing in the order form. I sent it to the lab where every other chemist major worked.

"Oh so you big boss. 'Dr.Reign' and then you givin orders nd shi." Ky smirked causing me to roll my eyes. "Shut up." I smiled softly.

"You ate yet?" He questioned as he finished rolling up. "Yea I had sushi a lil bit ago." He scrunched his face up at my answer making me laugh.

"What?" I asked after I calmed down. "That shit nasty asf." He shook his head in disgust. I looked at him shocked because I loved sushi.

"No it's not. You probably just had a nasty version." I chuckled. "Naw you be on that white folk shit." He said making me bust out laughing once again.

"No I don't you just don't like trying new stuff." I rolled my eyes. He didn't say anything as he was focused on putting the rest of his weed away.

I was admiring him when a knock on the lab door caught my attention. "Come in!" I called out putting in one airpod just in case he said anything out of pocket.

Seven of my students entered holding clipboards. "Hello Dr.Reign." They all greeted in unison. I smiled softly at them, "Hi, you all. What can I help you with?"

"We have lab data tests for you to sign off on." Sharri said as they lined up beside my chair holding a pin out to me. I sat up putting on my glasses and took her clipboard.

I flipped through her pages reading over the results and concluded she needed to redo her run. "Redo it. Your results shouldn't have been what they were with the chemicals you mixed." I told her stamping her paper with a denied stamp.

I then went through the rest of the papers like I did the first until their was No one left. Pass, pass, fail, fail, fail, pass.

I knew the ones who had to redo their tests were upset but I had no control over that. I wouldn't allow them to use practices that didn't work.

So they are to keep trying until they find one that does.

"I thought you was a student?" Ky raised a brow at me as he put out his blunt. "I am but I also work in my own lab as a scientist. It's hard to explain honestly." I shrugged.

A lot of people were confused when they found out that I was a student but I also had my own lab and was a doctor. I didn't know how to explain it but it worked out so oh well.

"E I need you to help me do my rounds please." Lani bust through the lab doors panting. She was the only person at the hospital who never knocked.

"Ok but why are you so tired." I chuckled sliding my shoes back on. "Bitch Ms.Andrew ole crazy ass is chasing me through the hospital for red jello." I furrowed my brows but didn't say anything about it.

"I'll talk to you later Ky." I informed him as I stood out of my seat. "Ight." He said before hanging up.
