"Chapter Two; Special Abilities"

Third person POV

Will shot away, breathing heavily. Everyone jumped towards him.

"Omg are you ok? What happened baby!?" Joyce grabbed his hand.

"It was Vecna, he was trying to convince me to join him." Will started while everyone sat around him staring in anticipation.

"I have powers like Eleven and Vecna. I picked them up from the connection according to Vecna." Will finished while everyone else stayed still in shock.

"Wait so hold on a second you have Els powers? How do we know he wasn't lying?" Mike asked him while everyone nodded in agreement.

"Fair enough.. I can try it out. How do you do it El?" Will asked.

"Focus on the object, I'll grab a can." El said while walking out the door and digging in the trash. She pulled out a coke can from the garbage and ran back over to them putting it in front of Will.

"Crush the can." Eleven spoke, breaking the silence.

Will nodded and looked at the can intensely. Suddenly it crashed in front of them like it did with eleven in the lab years ago. Blood started dripping out of Will's nose as he wiped it away in shock.

"Well I guess that clears it." Mike said to the group.

"What does this mean? Does this mean my boy is gonna be in more danger?" Joyce asked worriedly.

"Since when was I not?" Will asked, earning slightly sad laughs from everyone then the room went back into silence.

"Are you ok, Will? What else happened?" Mike asked while breaking the silence again. Will just shook his head.

"I don't really wanna talk about it." Will responded looking down.

"Are you ok?" Mike asked again.

Will just nodded in response. After a while of talking, they all decided to get some sleep since it was getting late and they were all pretty tired.

Will and Johnathan went to Mike's house to sleep. El was going to, but she wanted to spend more time with Hopper since she got him back and so did Joyce. Will and Mike slept in the basement and Johnathan slept upstairs with Nancy. Will insisted he would be fine in the basement alone but Mike didn't wanna take any chances.

"Can you turn off the lights?" Mike asked tirelessly while snuggling into his blanket trying to get comfortable.

"Sure." Will replied using his power to flip the switch.

"Oh right, I forgot you could do that. I gotta get used to it." Mike chuckled.

They laid there for an hour thinking and worrying. Mike was scared something would happen to Will but convinced himself he was equally worried for El. Will stayed awake thinking about the connection with Vecna and what challenges that might bring. It was also very cold in the basement and while Mike didn't mind the cold too much, Will hated it after the mind flayer. He shivered while melting further into his blanket.

"You still awake?" Mike asked tired.

"Ya." Will shivered.

"We should just go up to my room, it's too cold down here." Mike stated.

"Yeah, but there's only one bed." Will replied. Mike thought for a second and so did Will.

"I could sleep on the floor." Mike thought out loud.

"No, it's your bed. I'll sleep on the floor." Will fought.

"No, don't fight me on this, you are getting the bed. End of discussion." Mike fought back.

Will knew there was no point in fighting so they went upstairs and Will took the bed. They both drifted to sleep quickly after that but it didn't last long since Vecna wasn't done trying to convince Will to join him.

He shot awake after screaming for him to get out of his head. His heart was pounding so much, you would've thought he had run a marathon! His breath was fast and he brought his hands up to his face before crying silent tears.

"Will? Are you ok?" A tired Mike asked while turning the lamp on.

He then saw the tear streaming down Will's face and immediately got up to comfort him without thinking.

He lightly wrapped his arms around Will's back and pulled him into a hug. Will put his face onto Mike's shoulder and sobbed while hugging him back.

"Shhh it's ok. Was it him again?" Mike asked in a soft soothing voice.

"Ya." Will's voice cracked, causing Mike's heart to break.

"Hey it's ok? I'll lay by you tonight so you don't have to worry." Mike told him softly before laying down and wrapping his arms around Will's torso.

"Try to get some sleep alright?" Mike whispered into Will's ear making his heart flutter.

Mike blushed when he heard Will fell asleep, causing him to think. This is what friends do with and feel for each other, right?

That's all he and Will were. Friends. Mike closed his eyes, slowly drifting into a sleep with his arms still wrapped around will.
