Part 14

Y/n's pov:

I woke up early this morning last night was one of the best nights of my life but everything is so overwhelming at the moment so I decided to go back of my medication and go on my skate board around the site, I decided to wear my lilac shorts and my plain white shirt.
I left me and Javon's tent quietly leaving him sleeping peacefully with a smile on his face, he also told me that last night was the best night of his life. I walked over to the concrete and shuffled my favourite playlist, with all my favourite songs 'where is my mind?' Came on which is one of the best. I dropped my board and pushed of the ground and rode it down the path, it was very quite most people were still sleeping, it was 5am after all but the sun had already risen since it's the summer. I practiced a few basic tricks on my board since I only started this year but I love skateboarding I think I'm going to start doing it more.
I had been out for almost an hour now and went through my whole playlist, I was having fun trying new tricks but my music was getting boring so I took my earphones out and put them in my pocket, just as I got back on my board I heard footsteps approaching me
"Goodmorning y/n" I heard my dad, I'm happy to see him since we haven't had a conversation for a while
"Hi dad" I replied smiling
"Why are you up so early? It's 6am what time were you up?" He asked
"I got up at 5am and last night was really busy so I wanted to go out on my skate board whilst it was quiet" I said blocking the sun out of my eyes, it was starting to get hot
"Yeah I wondered what was going on last night, when the movie finished I saw you in Javon's arms" he said mocking me I looked to the ground and decided that if I was going to tell someone I'd tell my dad
"Javon put a note in some donuts he got me, saying that he liked me..... and I guess I have liked him for a while now" I said still with my head pointing at my feet
"Really?! I'm so glad I knew it was going to happen everyone did honestly but are you happy? you've been needing someone like Javon in your life after everything" he said smiling
"Yes I am extremely happy but it's very overwhelming, I decided to go of my medication if that's ok I think it's making me a bit on edge and I'm getting headaches, I know I only just got back on it but I will really try this time, it will be different?" I said looking back up hoping he would be ok with it because last time he found out I stopped taking it there was a big argument
"I don't know, you know how you can get maybe just let me keep an eye on you, I don't want anything happening, if you are ok after a week then I'll just let it happen" he said looking a bit nervous about his answer
"Thank you" I said smiling as I gave him a hug
"Do you want to see the new trick I learned, it's not perfect but I've been practicing all morning?"
I said preparing myself
"Yeah sure, what is it?" He's asked
I performed a kick flip for my dad but I didn't stick the lading properly
"Uhhhhh" I exclaimed frustratedly
"It's a kick flip I can do it but I can't stick the landing I always lean forward and loose my balance
"Hey that was amazing, you 99% have it down just don't overthink the landing and maybe when you land try to lean backwards more so you correct the leaning forwards to standing straight"
My dad said, I never thought to do that
"Come here, I'll hold the board and you do a big jump onto it and try to stand up straight, then add it to your kick flip" he said grabbing the board and holding it In place, I stood In front and jumped high and landed on the Board but I leaned forward again though my dad caught me
"That's ok you don't learn if you don't fall, this time focus more on your posture than your jump"
"Ok thank you" I said getting back in front of the board, this time I jumped but before I landed on it I made sure to straighten my back so I didn't lean at all, and then I didn't fall.
"See! Just like that!" He said proud, I smiled at him as I kicked the board to my hand to get ready to try the kick flip again, just before I was going to go I saw Javon running over to us
"I never knew you skateboarded" he said out of breath, it looks like he's been running for a while
"Yeah I started a few months ago, but my balance is really bad" I said smiling at him
"Seems like you've stolen my daughters heart Javon" my dad said, I immediately felt so embarrassed, that was such a typical thing of my dad to say
"Uhhh... yeah your daughters amazing, I'm glad I get to be around her" Javon replied blushing once again in between laughs
"Ok I see, I made it a bit awkward then, how about I leave you to alone, and take care of y/n Javon, don't go playing with her heart" my dad said slightly seriously at the end
"Omg dad, please" I said wishing the floor would swallow me whole
My dad then Walked back to campsite to see my mom
"Your dad is quite protective" Javon said still blushing and laughing
"I am so sorry about that, there is literally nothing I can do about it" I say my heart beating faster as I'm around Javon
"Anyway do you want me to help you balance?" He asked
"Yes please, do you know how to skate" I replied genuinely curious
"No but I do want to have a go, you looked like you were having so much fun" he said
"Yeah I woke up really early, last night was amazing but so much happened so I came out for an hour when it was quiet, by the way do you want to go out today just me and you?" I asked a little nervous
"I'd love that, how about you take your skate board and I'll take my bike? And we can stop to get food as well" he said
"That sounds perfect" I said smiling and reached out for a hug which he returned
"I got to finish my run, do you want to come with me now and then later we'll go?" He asked
"Yeah sure, come on" I said Pushing of the ground and leaving
"Hey wait! This isn't a race!" He shouted as I picked up speed, I stopped to look back and saw him running up to me
"Or is it?" I stop and until he catches up, from there I pushed of the ground again until I was picking up speed, I could tell I was far ahead of him since I could barely hear him shouting. Hearing him cuss me out for cheating I started laughing
"Ok we won't race it's not fair, I'll go the same pace as you" me laughing at him since he had been sprinting trying to catch up
"Very......funny" he breathed
"Do you want to have a go at this" I said stepping off
"I don't know I've never riden one before" he replied
"It's easy just step on and Give me your hand then I'll drag you"
He gave me a wary look and stepped on he leaned forward and almost lost his balance but I fought him and stood him back up straight
"I don't know if I can do this" he protested giving me a scared look
"Youre doing better than me when I first started, I couldn't even stand on it without the board slipping from under my feet" remembering the first time I stood on it, falling on my ass and not picking it back up for weeks
With that Javon felt a bit more confident
"Ok step off, now put your left foot just behind those first two bolts" I instructed him
"Yup" he declared
"Now just lift your other foot of the ground and practice your balance, you won't fall I got you"
Doing this he was a bit wobbly but regained himself quick
"Now put it back down and do a small push of the ground"
He did this perfectly
"See your getting it. now just standing on it bring your back foot on the 4 bolts, you normally do that sideways"
"If I move I'm going to fall" he said in a zone of full concentration
"As long as you stand straight and keep your front foot still you won't trust me and remember I'll catch you"
With this I held onto his shoulder and he moved his back leg into place
"While we are at it see is you can just turn your front foot around to line up with your back foot"
Before he did this I let go of him having full confidence that he could do it on his own
"Wow, you let go" he hesitated standing so still as if he was in a game.
"Ok I'm going to to pull you now"
And with that I took his hand and started walking fast
"Wait this isn't so bad" he laughed
"Turn your front foot forward" I said as I cheered him on
With a new burst of confidence he did and I didn't have to tell him anything else he pushed of the ground and was going off
"HEY WAIT!" I screamed as I started running
"Y/n, I CAN'T STOP!" He yelled heading straight for a curb
"Hang on!" I ran as fast as I could he was loosing speed but he was going to fall flat on his face
I kept on running
"y/n please help" he was petrified
I ran up to him just before he hit the curb and pulled him back and we fell on the floor
"Holy shit" he blurted full of adrenaline but laughing as he saw us both lying on the floor
"That was crazy" I said between breathes
"Maybe take it slower, and but your back foot down to stop"
"Come on y/n it was funny" he teased me as he picked back up to the skate board
"Good luck!" I laughed
"Only kidding" he put it back down and lent his hand to me and pulled me up. I brushed myself of and proceeded to put the skate board back down
"We better go back" he looked at his clock
"It's 8am Daelo will be up soon I promised I'd take him swimming" and with that we headed back me on the board and him running
"Hey are we still going out later!" I asked over the sounds of the wheels against concrete and him breathing heavily
"Definitely, it's our last day" he shouted back
