"I'm in the wrong universe....." Megumi x reader

Chapter 12

   "Taichi Kanada in Morioka, in June. Osamu Shimada in Yokohama, in August. Hiroshi Yamato in Nagoya, in September. All three died in similar circumstances." All of us first year were in the car getting briefed on the situation at hand by Nitta, who is driving us to the location. "They were stabbed to death by a cursed spirit at the entrances to their apartments. And all three of them just days prior to their murders had filed the same complaint with their property mangers. They all claimed they'd found the security doors left wide open. None of the other residents were able to provides any other clues."

   Megumi was the first to speak about the case "But none of these dates or locations match. Maybe it's not the same cursed spirit?" "Hey wait, what if the spirit is messing with the doors? Do cursed spirits trigger those sensors, you think? They don't show up on cameras, right?" While saying that Megumi gave the tablet to me since I had to sit in the passenger seat, "Apparently, the cursed spirit made the door operating mechanism go crazy, not the sensors." Nitta explained "Ohhh. Mechanism?" "Yeah. And as for whether or not the same cursed spirit was behind all three. We couldn't make a decision based on residuals. Too much time had passed by then. So, we looked for connections between the three of them. And we discovered that all three had attended the same middle school for two years."

  "Which would mean, that all three must have received the same curse." Nobara said that's when I finally spoke up "And unfortunately for them, would mean that the curse wouldn't activate until years later." For some reason Yuji was amazed by what Nobara and I said "Precisely. That's highly likely. So that's why we're on our way to their middle school now. We'll be picking up a fourth man who also went there and knew all of the victims. I'm assigning you four as sorcerers to see what you can find out from him." Yuji went on a praised Nobara and I for our answers. Of course, Nobara took the praise in while I just rolled my eyes.

   We all stepped put of the car once we stopped to see we were in front of a funeral ? "A funeral?" Yuji questioned as Nobara spoke up "Is this the home of that acquaintance?" "Yeah. Or it used to be." Nitta said unsettling.

 ---------Little Time skip---------

  "Turns out he died the same way the other three did. He lived with his family, so there was no auto-locking door, but he was killed right at the entrance, just like the others. And he'd also recently told other family members that another time he'd come home alone, he'd found that "the door was unlocked, but it wouldn't open."

  We had finally made it to the middle school and walked towards it while Nitta kept talking "I asked his parents about the other three victims, but they said they didn't know what relationship he might've had with them. Man, there goes our only lead!" Nitta seemed really upset about the situation, so Yuji tired to make her feel better "Ahhh don't worry. I'm sure we'll find something at the middle school!" Nitta was still feeling down "I sure hope so. I've made you guys an appointment with a teacher, so I'm counting on you." 

   As we were walking Megumi was looking off to the side while I was facing front, mine and Megumi hand had brushed pass each a bunch of times which had lead me to hold his pinkie finger with my pinkie finger. When I did the action and I could see a light blush on Megumi's face which made me giggle quietly and made Megumi look at me with a little smile. While in our own little world our action got noticed by Nobara who was made sure to keep an eye on us.

  While walking we were coming up on two boys who were smoking, Nobara giggled a little and ran forward and swung herself around the pillar to face "Hey, Look at these two punks. We should kick their asses." This seemed to get the boys attention. "Why? It would just be a waste of our time" I said to Nobara, the boys stood up and made faces to look like they were tough I guess?
