My dad, being the man he was, planned a Christmas trip. Turns out, my mom wasn't around anymore. Nobody will tell me what happened to her. So, I don't know if she's dead, alive, or if she's been turned into a frog and has to kiss a prince to become human again.
The only difference between this trip and the previous ones would be who he invited. My dad decided to invite Analeese and her mom. Which, I didn't mind at all. I hated being away from Annie.
"Hey, I just met you, and this is crazy. So here's my number, so call me maybe." Analeese sang. She had her headphones in, our fingers were intertwined on her thigh.
She was beyond tired, we'd been up all night preparing for this trip, to be honest, I wasn't fully awake either. I don't know why she was trying so hard to stay up.
I began rubbing circles on her thigh, an action that was sure to put her to sleep. Her light singing turned into humming, and from there, into quiet breaths.
I parked in the driveway of our house located in the mountains. See, my father, had connects, just like I had connects. My father's connections got us a mountain resort. My father bought it and made it new.
"Wake up, my love," I said, kissing Analeese's cheek and shaking her arm softly.
"Hm?" Analeese hummed, slowly opening her eyes.
"We're here," I said, getting out of the driver's side and walking over to the passenger's side to open her car door.
After grabbing our bags, Analeese and I headed to our cabin.
"What made your dad even want to buy a resort in the mountains?" Analeese asked, setting her bags down on the bed.
"Well, as you know, Reign is a wolf. So far, he's the last offspring that's a wolf. He's the youngest out of everybody. When he was a baby, he would get really sick, he didn't know how to coexist with his wolf, so he had to stay out here for a good period of his life."
"Why?" Analeese asked.
"This resort is like home to his wolf. Since his wolf was a baby when he was a baby, it was kind of hard for them to get along. So, we had Reign transform into a wolf and for a few years, he lived out here on his own, the doctors did tend to his needs when needed, but for the most part, he had to connect with his wolf, and this was the best way. But, since he's better connected with his wolf, we use this resort every Christmas for family time." I explained.
"You think he'll transform today?" Annie inquired. I chuckled and shook my head no. Since there wasn't a full moon today, he didn't have a reason to transform. But, there was another way he'd have a reason to transform...
"You hungry? My dad made dinner," I said, leaning against the door frame.
"I could eat," Analeese said, shrugging. I grabbed a hold of her hand and led her to the main cabin.
