Kiara walks out from the patio. She almost went over to the dock but saw Mya playing with a guitar inside the shack. She built up the courage to have a one on one conversation with her. Every inch of her knew how awkward it would be since they never talked alone before but she owes her an apology. As she reached the border between the inside and the out,  Mya stopped playing. She lifted her head seeing the brunette standing with her hands behind her back.

"Uhhh...hi?" she spoke, unable to say anything else.

"Hey..um- how's it goin?" she pointed her head to the guitar, stepping further inside.

She glanced down, "Terrible, I don't even know how to play this thing."

They both quietly chuckled to relieve the discomfort. Kiara ended up sitting down on a nearby chair.

"What kind is it?"

"This thing," she examined the sage green body, "A bass guitar. The acoustic one."

"I'm pretty sure you're not that bad."

"That's what they all say until they hear me play, except for the guys. They like it apparently.

Kiara got straight to the point, "So, I just wanted to apologize for being a total douchebag to you before."

"Oh, it's cool, really."

"No, it's not. You weren't even rude and I just shoved you off like you were the enemy."

Mya set the guitar down by her side, "You were completely reasonable on how you felt, Kiara. It's a natural reaction. It was silly miscommunication."

"So no hard feelings?"

She shook her head, "None."

Kiara felt relieved that she didn't hate her, "Good."

She picked the guitar back up and placed it on her thighs, "Besides, you reacted better than I would have. I have a tendency to overthink minor situations. It's a skill I try to tame but...y'know."

She nodded, "Yeah, I just felt so jealous I guess."

"If it's worth anything, I have a girlfriend. Even if I didn't, I would never replace or even try to replace you, Kiara. The last thing I want to do is step on toes." The red head reassured.

Kiara didn't say anything but gave a look that let her know she was appreciated. It went silent for a moment.

"And it's Kie."

"Kie?"

"Yeah, you can call me Kie."

Mya glanced away taking it in. She finally nodded before going back to the guitar.

"Hold your ears if you want to keep them, Kie."

Kiara laughed, not wanting to leave, "I'll take my chances."

She started to play, strumming the strings to create a deep melody. For someone who believes she was so terrible was actually pretty good.Whoever her girlfriend was must be one lucky girl to be able to listen to such a soothing and heart scratching piece. She bobbed her head to the rhythm as she watched.
