It was the middle of summer. One whole month since Kiara's arrival. They sat around the blazing camp fire feeling the warmth bushing their legs. Kiara watched them bicker about nonsense that never really mattered and yet she couldn't get enough of it."That is so dumb." Sarah complained.
"I think it's a great idea." JJ said proudly.
"Partying on the moon is not physically possible as we will run out of oxygen and die." Pope stated.
"And it's impractical." Maya added.
"But that's the thing, we can make never ending oxygen tanks. I got a cousin who does those sorts of things."
Most of them gave him a look. A look mixed with fear and confusion.
"Oh then we're definitely dead." Cleo mumbled.
The four of them broke out into a small fit on who's right and who's boring.
John B quickly intervened, waving his hands between them, "Hey, hey, hey, this potential party is for the contender herself. Let's hear what she has to say," he stretched out his hand to Kiara that's sitting across from them.
Kiara sat in silence as they looked at her. She wasn't entirely sure what she wanted so far as partying went. She didn't want to sound sentimental and say that their presence was all she needed but after being in isolation for two years, it wasn't something she couldn't feel.
She shrugged as she slouched in the lawn chair, "The moon sounds great to me." she smiled, looking at the blonde boy who matched her same grin.
"See I told you!" JJ shoved Pope
He rolled his eyes, "Whatever, she only said that because she's dating you."
Her brows came together as her mouth was gaped from slight offense, "That's not true."
"Then what other possible reason could it be?" Cleo asked, sitting back in her chair.
She was about to answer but quickly realized that she didn't have a valid reason, only that he is her boyfriend. She opened her mouth but soonly closed it like a goldfish.
Cleo nodded as she proved her point, "Exactly."
Kiara shook her head before standing, "Okay I'm done for tonight, y'all can continue to do whatever this is."
"Where are you goin?" JJ asked, looking over his shoulder.
"To bed!"
He checked his phone, "It's only eight!" he called out.
By then she was far too inside to hear him. He sighed, standing up as well, leaving their circle. Catching up, he'd seen her go into the room.
"Hey," he said, standing by the doorway.
She turned around, taking a seat on the bed, "Hi."
"You don't want to at least hear the rest of my plan?" he strolled in closing the door, taking a seat beside her.
"Not really, I don't care what happens as long as I'm spending as much time with you, all of you," she started to untie her shoes, "And those mosquitoes are fuckin ruthless." she started to scratch her ankle.
"That's why I wear bug spray and sunscreen."
Her shoes hit the floor glancing at him, "Hm, interesting."
"Why is that interesting?"
"Because you never wore sunscreen. Getting you to wear it was hard enough as it needed to be."
