White walls

I don't know where I am. There's a huge ramp that goes straight up to the ceiling and then a hallway leading to somewhere else. It kind of looks like a really empty hospital building... well other than the big ramp, it's all white,no other color. I go towards the hallway to look where it leads. It's what I thought. It's a hospital. I still don't know what the ramp was, but the rest of it was a hospital. I walk around aimlessly for a while.
"ALISHA!" I recognize the voice, but can't put it to a face. I look around and see my birth parents. I've never met them in person, but I've seen pictures and they call me on my birthday every year. They never miss a year.
"Why are you here? You're supposed to be living your dream with Demi."
"I...I....well. Where are we exactly?" I was stunned.
"The edge of death."
WHAT!
"What! What you mean edge of death. And why are you here if it's the edge of death?"
"We are getting surgery. Both of us. This is where you go when your unconscious and when/if you see a white light above the ramp that's heaven." They said it so calmly.
"Wait... So if or when I see a white light at the other end the ramp I'm dead. I get to choose when I die? I cut too deep and too much. I lost too much blood. I woke up then the doctor told me what happened and I fainted again. I don't know why."
My birth parents looked as if they were going to cry. They sat there just a minute staring at me.
"What? Do I have 3 heads or something?" I was getting annoyed now. "Is something wrong with me or something?"
"No honey. We just never wanted this for you. We regret giving you up, but we know it was for the best. We weren't capable of taking care of you. We still aren't capable." We were walking again. I just realized that. We got back to the ramp area.
"Oh my." I was terrified yet excited at the same time. "I see the light."
"You do?" My birth parents were bewildered. "Usually you don't see it this early."
"What happens if I go to it?" I know this was a dumb question, but I wanted to make sure what I suspected was right.
"You die." My father said it as if I was a little baby, light and gentle.
I feel like I'm going to barf. Pain. That's all I feel. I fall to the ground. I'm coughing now. I'm coughing blood I think.
"Alisha? What's happening?"
This is when I felt it. The crucial pain. I'm back to reality, I'm awake.

A/n: hey! Ok so I'm starting to put questions in the authors notes. Just cuz I want to get to know you guys.

1) what could I do to make the book better?

2) 1-10 how good is it so far?

3) if I wrote a new book. Different plot different everything would you read it?
