It was about a quarter after midnight in Hawkins. The crickets chirped quieter then usual, the wind rustled the trees and the stars glimmered in the dark sky. The roads were silent as porch lights were on, maybe once or twice an hour a car would rum through the streets. This was the moment a car rummed through the street, specifically down the street where Steve Harrington lived. But it was also not a engine that was quiet, it was quite loud.
The van flew down the street, bumping up and down as it hit potholes and speed bumps. Soon enough screeching into the driveway of a dimlit house that was fairly big.
Eddie hopped out of his van, closing the door and slowly made his way up to the door. He stood there for a couple seconds, rocking back and forth on his feet, he played with the rings that sat pretty on his fingers, nerves continued to wrack up.
The door opened quickly, revealing an even more nervous Steve. He stood there without saying anything, staring back at Eddie who also stood there with no words.
Soon enough Eddie spoke up to break the silence, "Are you going to let me in Harrington?" He raised his eyebrow.
"Oh, oh, yea.." Steve blinked quickly, opening the door as he remembered to breath. "Sorry dude, just.. you know.."
Eddie walked in, looking at Steve and then the interior of the house. Steve closed the door and locked it, standing behind Eddie as he looked around. After a couple seconds Eddie spun back around and looked at Steve, a small smile grew on Eddie's face. "I know what, Steve?" He cocked his head.
Steve looked at him in some what shock, he felt giddy and nervous. What was wrong with him? Steve's mouth hung open, stuttering to spit out a single word.
"Don't sweat it man, just kiddin with ya.." Eddie laughed a bit, stepping forward to pat Steve on the shoulder. "Hey I mean I know a lot of things too, whatever you want to know I may be able to tell you.. unlesss it's about certain things." He stared at Steve with a blank look before cracking his usual smile, then giving Steve a small wink before stepping back.
Steve couldn't muster a single word out, the only thought that managed to jump around in his brain was how much he wanted to kiss him. He found it odd how he desired to kiss Eddie Munson, there was definitely something wrong with him.
"But, before we get too deep into whatever you have planned for this odd meet up," Eddie began to look around, taking more steps into the house, leading Steve to follow him quickly. "I need to know why Steve Harrington called me, Eddie Munson, to come over and apparently just 'hang out'." He questioned as he made his way into the kitchen, still taking in every single inch of the house.
Steve watched him as he looked around, trying to think of how to respond to Eddie's words.
"Steve.. don't you have other people you could call in the middle of the night to drink a couple beers and I don't know.. make out with? Or am I the only person who came to mind?" Eddie looked back at Steve, smiling a bit. Eddie widened his eyes and hung his mouth open, "Oh no! Did I just ruin what the king had planned for us?"
Steve blinked a bit, averting his eyes, "I, no, I mean the beer part sounds good," He breathed, leaning onto the counter to stabilize himself. "You're just the only.. guy friend I have at the moment."
Eddie smiled, staring at Steve.
"Don't give me that look Munson." Steve remarked quickly, "You're not.. the only—
Eddie walked towards Steve, keeping eye contact before cutting him off. "Me.. the freak is Steve The Hair Harrington's only guy friend?" He kept a big smile on, continuously getting closer to the other male.
