present day
a few weeks had passed. the groups had finished their promotions but stray kids had resumed their tour therefore limiting the interactions between groups. they all continued to text on the group chat, but with everything going on in their idol lives it was difficult.
following the exposure of their high school friendship to their groupmates, minho and sohee stayed in contact outside of the group chat. after the events at the jyp building, jisung suggested that they have a stupid photoshoot for fun.
minho and sohee ended up getting this one picture where he was holding her up and she looked like she was levitating. they laughed at it for so long they both decided to change it to their lock screens. but not before sharing a quick giddy smile about how both of their lock screens were the same photo from first year.
they also kept up to date with mirae's group twitter account, counting down the days till her debut. it was almost impossible to get a hold of mirae but rightfully so. they'd experienced the month prior to debut themselves so they understand how hectic it can get.
minho wanted to fly back to seoul for her debut showcase and support her as mirae had done for his, but he couldn't and he would not be able to forgive himself for it. sohee on the other hand could, she promised to send minho photos of it all.
currently, minho sat in his and jisungs room in the hotel. jisung was producing something on his laptop at the hotel desk. the older boy let out an exaggerated sigh as he read sohee's last text to him.
soheehee 🪩 imagine not being able to go to miraes debut showcase... L
jisung momentarily turned around and shot minho a confused look. glancing between the computer and him, trying to get him to shut up so he could focus. he himself sighed, after seeing the annoyed state he was in.
"dearest minho, what's wrong"
"i can't attend miraes debut showcase" following the jyp building meet up, jisung walked in minho scolding hyunjin for almost exposing him. all he managed to hear was "no one was supposed to know about her and i" before minho noticed him.
being as close as they always have been, minho sat jisung down and ended up explaining the entire thing to both him and hyunjin. hyunjin smiled as he managed to get the more details he had asked for. since then, jisung has been the unfortunate receiver of everything going on in minhos life involving his high school friends.
"min, we went over this yesterday. and no you can't skip. this is important to us."
"i know" minho huffed out. to say he missed the girl would be an understatement. mirae was the sister he never had. their dynamic of bickering was exactly what he pictured having a sister would be like. it physically pained him to know he couldn't go support her on a day as important as her debut.
realizing that there was nothing that could be done about his attendance considering this first world tour was a huge stepping stool for them, he decided on the next best option. shooting her a quick message.
minuteho MIRAE i doubt you'll answer bc you're a busy idol now awe 🥰🥰 but i can't make your debut showcase tomorrow because of my tour i'm really sorry, i really tried to come back for it you'll do great! i'll be rooting for you from here
feeling satisfied with the message he sent, a smile crept onto minhos face. he couldn't wait for the next time the three of them got the chance to meet up again. his reminiscing thoughts were cut off by a loud rhythmic knocking on the hotel room door.
jisung groaned and walked over, opening it to reveal an excited felix. his phone on and in his hand, jisung tried to read what felix was so excited about but the boy just wouldn't keep still.
"yah! stop moving i can't read it" he grabbed the others arm, forcing him to stop.
"we're going on weekly idol with staryu when we get back to korea?!" minho sat up at this news, a giddy smile plastered on his face.
"really!" "yes minho, you get to see your bestie again. now go back to moping about the other one"
