38 - In this Together

Taehyung POV

I brought Jungkook to my beach house in Incheon. This is where we usually hangout to date. It is far away from the nearest house, so nobody would be able to bother us. His face is still a total mess from crying heavily from the revelations that we heard from Mr. Choi. He sat in the living room sofa while I cook for dinner in the kitchen.

"Have you texted Taeyong, that you wouldn't be able to go home tonight?"

"Yes", he answered while sneezing nose. Is he done crying?

"Did he ask you why?"

"Yes, I just told him I needed an alone time" Kookie said. 

I brought our dinner to the living room. Just ttekbeoki, kimchi, salads and chicken noodle soups. He seems to stop crying but his eyes are still red and swollen. 

"C'mon babe, lets eat... Here's your chopsticks"

"Thanks" he responded.

We were silently eating, then Jungkook said, "Tae, your hyung..."

I held his hands, 

"Babe, don't worry... This will all pass... If Hoseok is the mastermind or an accomplice of my stepfather, he will still be punished by the law"

Then Kookie said, "I don't really know to feel about this Tae,... your brother has been good to me when I lived in his house and I know that even though you are not blood related... both of you genuinely love and care for each other. I was just bewildered that he is part in conspiring the murder of my parents."

"We feel the same way Kookie... but if his arrest would be the only way for us to get back at the governor... it seems we don't have any options... Babe, everything will just reveal itself, trust Atty. Rose and Namjoon... trust me."

"Ok..." Jungkook nooded. 

The truth is I am conflicted that we have to arrest Hoseok hyung. From the first time we met, he has always been warm and generous to me. I never felt that we are distant, I have already considered him as my brother. I guess everyone, even those who look sunny and happy, have also their dark sides. 

Jungkook POV

After we ate, Taehyung and I cuddled each other in the sofa and watched TV. Then we saw the coverage of Jongdae's wedding to the heiress of Hyundai.

"Do you think he is happy?"

Still watching the television, he said, "I am not sure Kookie... when I talked to him and broke up things with him and told him the truth about us... he told me that his wedding with Jessica was already planned ahead and he kept this a secret from me for months. He didn't tell me about it because he knows that I would end things with him right there.  But I hope he is happy with his decision, he may be my ex but had been genuine and kind to me. We rarely fight but deep within me, I know our relationship wouldn't last."
