34 - Truth is Revealed

Jungkook POV

As we stood in front of the house, I could see Tae staying silent and just looking around.

"Looks like nothing has changed, a little dusty though.."

I entered the gate. Taehyung followed me behind. He remains silent, again, his eyes were just looking around the place.

The garden taken cared of by Uncle Seonjo can be seen when you entered the gate. Its garden has vegetables but also an array of beautiful flowers.

"Oh the flowers are still alive."

Taehyung remains silent looking at the garden. He doesn't seem to show any emotion. Then said, "Let's go inside."

Tae and I went to the front door and opened it using the key that Taehyung gave me five years ago. It opened.

"I think we should just bring our shoes inside.. The floor is quite dusty"

When we entered the living room, I could see the furniture being covered with cloth. Its eerily silent inside. Good thing its still noon time... if it was night, we surely get spooked.

Taehyung went to his old room, while I remained in the living room. There is a side table across the couch. Pictures of the family are placed on top. There is a small picture frame of a 10-year old Tae and Uncle Seonjo.

Uncle Seonjo was smiling but his eyes was telling otherwise. As I kept on staring at Uncle Seonjo, Tae really looks like him.

"Tae, look what I found."

"I also found something in my bed. I will bring it there." Tae said.

He brought a locked box, with a small note at the top.

Tae, Open It. Appa

"Tae, what is it? Do you have the key to open it?"

"Actually I have..." He took out a locket in his pocket. "If you open the locket, you see me and my dad's picture... but if you close it, it is actually shaped like a key."

"Did uncle gave that to you?"

"Yes, this is his last gift to me." Tae answered.

We open the box using the locket-shaped key and it indeed opened. What we see is an envelope. Inside is a letter and a paper that looks like a last will and testament.

Taehyung POV

Dear My Son,

First, I just want to say to you how happy I am to be your father. You have always been a joy to my heart ever since you were born. I am lucky to be the father of a kind, loving, talented boy like you. You have always been my inspiration to go on with life even with its difficulties.
