SPRUHA MEHLIR: #5
This was not going to be an easy task. He wore a fancy navy blue T-shirt with cream-coloured jeans. He also sported a Rolex (I don't know the model or design) on his left hand. His look also included black sunglasses. Sunglasses in the night at 7:00 pm. Mad guy, maybe he wants to go blind. Haha. His hair was messily styled to the side and his eyes were trying to hide behind the innocence of his unnecessarily handsome face. He did look the way he's supposed to.
This 'he' was none other than the devil from Antarctica. And I on the other hand tried so hard to find the attire to suit this international cuisine - 4 Points. I turned my entire closet upside down just for this devil's sake. And finally, I settled on a yellow top and a denim palazzo. I'm not too bad myself. Hey, a woman should be confident enough to compliment herself.
It has been 5 minutes since I arrived here at 7:10 pm. I was late, I know. But don't worry, this rascal deserved it all. While Leah and Alec were looking at us and anticipating for either one of us to break the silence, both of us were glaring at each other. This guy in front of me had no sense of women's safety. He's no man. He's not a social animal but a science animal for sure. The tension was thick in the air but it wasn't awkward. The silence that gathered up at our table was reasonable. Both of us were still in this staring contest. None of us was going to yield. And I should bid farewell to tonight's dinner if this trend goes on like this. Well, I don't think so.
"Ma'am, water? Drinks?" A waitress finally showed mercy on my grumbling tummy. Oh dear, long live!
"Yeah, sure. Six glasses of water." The waitress nodded and carried over while my audience displayed a bunch of perplexing expressions thinking about the two extra glasses I ordered. They're probably assuming that I might be communicating with the ghosts. The waitress was back with six glasses and noted our orders. Mine was all vegetarian. I don't love eating the moving things. No offence.
"So..." Finally, Alec took up the courage to get an audio track to this mime show-down. But I wouldn't let that happen. Should I?
I slowly pushed forward my empty plate which further knocked down the two extra glasses. These further vomited on Mr Devil's beautiful jeans. I mean Mr Devil got wet.
"Oops..." I pretended to be apologetic which was in contrast to my inner feeling of happiness. Every action has an equal and opposite reaction. Yup! Newton's third law of motion. So, Mr Devil started glaring at me twice the earlier magnitude. But I don't give a damn. No, I'm not at all cunning.
"You-you..." He couldn't find any more words.
"V-v." I playfully said. V is after U, right? It irked him furthermore but he deserved more than this. Both Leah and Alec wore shocked expressions.
"Mate, calm down-"
"Shut up." Right now, he was looking like a raging bull ready to pierce me to death with his horns. Oh my God, I'm not liking the way my imagination was going wild. And Leah threw me a disappointed look. Well, he was the one who started it. Don't blame me.
"I better not try to speak to animals." The devil uttered gritting his teeth.
"Copy and paste." I gave my comeback. Alec snorted and Leah, the poor woman facepalmed herself. I pity her.
But I hate this man to the core of my heart. If he didn't rat me out last night, everything would've been the same or even better. But things have gone south from the North due to the unwanted activity of his mouth. He leaked the information about me to Reddy's goons last night. Reddy was one of the lucky persons who got their dirty deeds published by me. Thank God, I was smart or else this buffoon would've been sent behind the bars for taking part in a murder. And I threw some sand into their eyes and ran away sneakily. That was a herculean task. I felt so irritated for trusting this Devil, even if it's just for a minute. Ugh! I want to do something bad to him.
