Chapter 40

I was excited, Coulson invited the team along with myself to his base so I was beyond thrilled to return and see the old stomping grounds again, I've missed being in it and around the team.

'No one moves', I instructed the team, so they keep perfect still, whilst a mounted machine gun points directly at us, 'identify yourself', it said as I look over at it, 'Agent Y/L/n', I respond as the gun lowers, 'welcome back agent Y/L/n', it says as I smile, 'Miss me', I said as the nozzle moves up and down, '...good, and because you answered right, I'll give you a quick tweak before I leave', I said as it nods again and a huge interlocking chamber began to open whilst I walk over and a little airy sound releases as the doors open, 'this is awesome', I head Pietro say as I look over at him, 'wait till you've been inside', I said as they chuckled and we walk in, 'welcome back Agent Y/n', I hear and look over and smile again, 'It's nice to be back Sam', I respond as he smiles back, 'oh no I'm Billy, Sam's the shorter one', he says as I nod, 'Coulson and his team will be back in a few moments, so please, make yourself at home', he followed up.

'Thank you Billy', I said as he smiles, nods and walks back to wherever he needs to, 'oh and I need the tools for Alpha', I said as he stops and looks back at me, 'Y/n, I told you not to touch my guns', he says, and I scoff, 'to bad he's not your gun, he's mine', I said as he rolls his eyes and walks off whilst I hear the team laugh behind me.

When I take a step and wanted to take the next hallway, I collided with a young agent who I didn't see and her clipboard falls, 'sorry', we both say at the same time and I pick up her clipboard, 'Agent Y/n, I didn't know you we're coming by', she states and when I spring up and look at her, I recognise her, 'surprise visit', I tell her, 'how are you Agent Monroe', I ask and hand her back her clipboard, 'I'm good, and you', she says with a smile.

'Never better', I said as she smiles brightly again and nods, 'good', she says, 'I'll see you around, I got to get the prisoner transport ready', she said, 'I need to find May to sign these for me', she adds.

'I can do it, you know how May doesn't like anyone disturbing her free time', I said and she laughs and hands me the clipboard, 'that would be a great help, one of the agents pissed her off so she's in a bad mood', she explains and I grab the pen and sign my name on it.

'How pissed is she', I ask and turn the page, 'remember when Simmons brought back an agent that didn't have any security clearance', she says and I nod and hand her back her clipboard, 'more pissed then that', she said and I grimace a little.

'Maybe I should come back another time, no one likes to see a pissed off May', I said and she laughs, 'hey, if we have to suffer, you have to too', she says and I laugh this time with the team until I hear her walkie, 'Yes, yes, I'm on my way, get the prisoner into the jet, and wheels up in ten, the raft won't be happy if we bring a prisoner in late', she replies back and looks at me.

'I'll see you around Agent Y/n', she says and I nod and give her one last smile until she disappears into another hallway.

'Agent Y/L/n', I heard again and saw a young man, taller then I remember when I last saw him, 'Agent Miller', I said as he smiles, 'glad you remember', he says as I laugh to myself, 'I told you I could get good with names', I said as he chuckled whilst the team did too.

'Here', he says, extending his hand to me whilst I look down and see a book, 'I forgot to return it so I thought I'd give it to you now', he says as I nod and take it, 'thanks', I said and he smiles again.

'Your Welcome', he responds whilst I inspect the book he handed me, 'no dog ears this time', I state and look at him, 'you're learning', I add and watch him smile, 'I learned my lesson last time, besides, I don't want to get hounded by you again', he says, 'the last time was already scary enough', he adds and I'm laughing to myself again, 'only when it comes to books I am', I said and he's chuckling again until his walkie turns on with another voice at the other end it, 'that's me, I'll see you around Y/n', he adds and I nod again whilst he walks into a room and I walk down to see Coulson, 'So, you made it', he says when he spots us and I nod and smile, 'I think your base is even better then ours', Sam says as we snicker, 'It's not the matter of thinking it, it is', I said as they each laugh and the room is suddenly filled with Fitz, Simmons, Mack, Hunter, Bobbie, Yo-Yo, and Daisy.
