I stand on the roof of my apartment, gazing out at the sea of lights where the busy people of Tokyo-3 are settling down for the night.
As I sit down on the edge, I let my feet dangle below like I always do. I spend a lot of time up here alone reading boring comics I've already read a hundred times or simply letting my mind wander aimlessly for hours. I'm never bothered when I'm up here. No one ever comes looking for me.

The wind picks up as the sunset from the west merges with the stars in a final firey upsurge before being smothered out by night. It's always beautiful, but it's exceptionally breathtaking tonight. I couldn't have asked for a better last view.
I stand up again and listen to the sound of the cars below me, the trains in the distance behind me and the wind all around me.
I feel completely at ease. My problems will be non-existent soon. This is what's right.
The tension and worry in my body finally drifts away as my left foot lifts from the edge. I close my eyes and allow the wind to carry me.
