I grab my bag in a hurry, practically running through the corridors.
"Miss Comasin if you would restrain from running until you leave the school grounds." Mr Wiseman says blocking my path.
I nod back, trying to catch my breath, "yes sir, I'm sorry sir, it won't happen again."
He nods satisfied at my answer, after stepping out of my way I take off once again. Mr Wiseman's angry voice drifting into the distance as the doors grow bigger.
"Where do you think you're going?"
I hold my breath, please don't be her, anyone but her.
"Hey, you piece of shit I asked you a question." She clicks her fingers in my face and I open my eyes. It's Natalie.
"I'm leaving." I reply in a mumbled tone.
"Did you just talk to me like that!" She screeches in her annoyingly high pitched voice. "I am the future Luna of this pack, you have no right to speak to me this way." She holds her head high and I roll her eyes.
In all honesty I wish Natalie is right. My birthday is only a year away and the idea of becoming Luna makes me sick. I'm an omega for pete's sake! I don't know how to lead a pack even if there is a manual. "Just get out of my way." I say through gritted teeth keeping my eyes focused on the ground. I'm not an idiot, an omega isn't allowed to make eye contact to other members of the pack.
"D-did you just order me around?!" The shock in her tone is evident and I resist the urge to roll my eyes, drama queen.
"I-I."
"That's right, keep your filthy mouth shut." She sneers at me, daring me to retaliate. I've have a bad day and I can feel my restraint snapping at her words, "you're so worthless you the only reason you're still alive is because the Beta likes to beat you up. If you were my daughter you'd already be dead by now." Her laugh is so cold I can't help but shiver.
"SHUT UP!" I scream finally raising my eyes to meet hers. After a short stare off, Natalie diverts her eyes.
"Whatever, Isabelle." She spits my name like its poison before delivering a sharp slap to my right cheek and walking away an evil smile on her face.
I hold my cheek as I run down the street, looking down at my watch. Shit?! It's already 3:55, I immediately pick up my pace. pushing my weak frame with everything I'm worth.
I round the corner where a small dry cleaners stands in front of me. I walk inside at the owner gives me a dirty look, I shrug it off. No one's ever really valued me before so it doesn't bother me anymore.
He hands me my fathers drycleaning wordlessly and I thank him quietly before walking out. Checking my watch for the second time, It's 4:05. Already?!
I feel myself start to panic as I run back through the small town I live in. Every house is the same, if you were a stranger who somehow found our village you'd probably think you were crazy. All the houses are identical, all the stores are the same, basically everything is the same. The Alpha of the pack years and years ago decided that everyone in his pack would have an equal amount of belongings, well everyone but him, hence the matching houses. Of course the Alpha lives in a huge house that overlooks a beautiful lake in the middle of our territory. We basically all live in a dictatorship, of werewolves. I hope not all packs work like this one.
It's 4:15, holy crap! I sprint the rest of the way home, throwing open the door only to come face to face with a very mad Beta.
He grabs me by my shoulders and growls, my body instantly submits to his superior rank. "Why were you late, I?" My father whispers in my ear.
