Eddie Munson X Reader

Warnings: none.

"Holy shit," Robin said before slamming the phone down onto the receiver.

You glanced back from the till before telling the customer to have a great day. They nodded and walked off, leaving you to turn around and wait expectantly for Robin to continue.

Her eyes were erratic, making you smile slightly.

"What's up, Rob?" You asked, laughing now. She looked more and more anxious so you dropped your smile and she began bending her fingers nervously.

"I have some news about Steve," She said, your eyes rolled back and you turned around to lean over the counter.

"I don't care," You mumbled, thinking about the amount of times you had heard the words Steve Harrington in the past month.

"Well, he seems to have a new...girl friend," You turned to look at her and she was nervously pressing her lips together.

You hummed, "Girlfriend?" You asked, thinking you might have just misheard her.

"Yeah, or girl who is also a friend?" She suggested, leaning slightly. You nodded, "How do you know about this anyways?" You asked.

"Vickie's having a party tonight and she invited Steve. He asked if he could bring a girl," You nodded, taking the information in.

You thought about the party, this could be an opportunity. A way to show Steve you didn't care about him anymore. Which to be honest you didn't, not really.

Obviously you didn't want him dating but it wasn't about jealousy, it was just weird after being with him for 7 months.

You didn't even try and think about the times you were with Steve. It was too bittersweet, he was lovely and you loved him to death but it wasn't the right time. You both wanted different things and you were going to uni soon and it just wasn't right.

"Okay," You said, "Can I come to the party?" You asked, Robin shrugged. "Probably. It's a big thing so I'm sure you could." You nodded, calculating.

"Good..." You finalised. You made your way over to the phone and grabbed it. You breathed out before dialling in the number, you waited as the phone rang.

"Who are you calling?" Robin asked, folding her arms over her chest. "You're not calling Steve are you?"

You batted a hand and turned away from her. You heard the sound of the phone being picked up and a small, "Hello."

"Hey, It's Y/N." You said, he laughed down the phone.

"Yeah, what do you want?" Eddie asked, "How presumptuous of you to think I want something." You said, laughing. You found yourself biting into your finger nail as you waited for his response.

"Hmm...yeah. What is it?" He asked. You hummed, "Was thinking about that favour you owe me, Eddie."

You glanced at Robin who's mouth hung open. You grinned and Eddie said, "Yeah. What about it?"

"Was thinking you could accompany me to a party tonight. Be my plus one?" You said.

"Why?" He asked, there was a hint of interest in his voice and you smiled.

"Steve's going," You said, simply. "Ah, this a jealousy thing? You want him to get jealous over you having a new guy?"

"No. I don't want him back but I just want to show him I don't need him," You replied.

"Okay, what time?" He asked. "I'll pick you up at 8, babe."

Eddie laughed and you heard the receiver cut off.
