013- goodbye

Tiff's POV: I woke up at around 4 AM, everyone was still asleep but Eddie was missing. I panicked and ran outside just to see him smoking a cigarette. I walked over to him and he offered it to me but I declined, I wasn't a big fan of smoking anymore.

"What are you doing up?" He asked, throwing the cigarette on the ground. 

"I could ask you the same thing" I replied sitting on a bench

"Too crowded in there" he sat next to me

"No way, you're lying" he laughed at my comment

I looked over at him and saw he was looking back at me. His eyes were mesmerizing, I couldn't look away.

"Eddie, I don't want Peter to die"

"I know, which is why I'm thinking of something else"

"What?"

"He won't go after everyone else, just us two. So what if me, Bev, and you fix up my van and just live in it, travel the country"

"What about money?"

"We can have all the money we want since I know Peter isn't gonna pay child support. Plus I can sing and get money from that, I have money from selling drugs and you have money from family video"

"It won't last forever though.."

"Just until we know you're safe. But it will be so much fun think about it, we go back to hawkins, get our money, clean out the van and make it livable, then travel the country"

"You sound like Steve"

"I don't want six little nuggets, chicken nuggets sure but kids...not my thing"

"Ok then, I'm in"

"YES!" He pulled me into a hug.

We sat in silence for a while just looking at the stars. I moved closer to Eddie and rested my head on his shoulder. I eventually fell asleep but at some point I could feel him lay down with me on top of him. I felt him kiss my forehead as he went to sleep as well.

At 8 AM we were already in the van, returning to Hawkins. Today is the day my life changed forever. As we entered the town the darkness and destruction became more noticeable..4 portals opened up destroying many houses. I became so anxious that mine was gone too that my mom was gone. My reaction to it was subtle but Eddie must've noticed since he squeezed my hand which caused me to look at him.

"What if she's dead? My mom?" I looked into his eyes and he was looking somewhere outside, it was my house. "Stop the van!"

Steve slammed on the brakes, everyone started yelling but I couldn't make out what they said as I was in panic and left the van running to my destroyed house.

"MOM! MOM! Where are you?!" tears began to fall when I wasn't given an answer. Everyone left the van running after me, Eddie in the front. "Please no...please don't be dead, MOM!"
"She's ok, trust me she's ok" Eddie stood beside me

"How do you know?"

"I called her last night at the motel after you went to sleep, to let her know you were safe. This was after the house was demolished"

"And you didn't tell me?" I began crying at the fact so much was happening at once I had no idea how to react

"She told me not to say a word, I'm sorry"

"Where is she then?"

"Joyce's house, I believe they became friends recently" Eddie walked me to the house so I could gather some leftover items of mine.
