Rule 32: Enjoy the little things

God it feels worth it.

"What--" he starts but you turn him to you and look into his eyes.

For a minute things are silent as you both just stare at each other.

"Viper what's wro--" he starts asking

You cut him off by slowly reaching up and cupping his cheek and he freezes, his breath hitching.

"I'm sorry...it was my fault... I'm the one that suggested Col meeting Bill..." You breath out and slowly wipe away his tears.

He sighs and closes his eyes, leaning more into your touch but then looks into your eyes again.

"No. No, don't put that on yourself. It was Bill's idea and Witchita and I encouraged him to do that stupid prank. We should've known. Don't blame it on yourself." He quickly reassures.

He cuts you off by hugging you suddenly. His hands holding onto your hips tightly.

You gasp and freeze but then relax and hug him back. Your heart rate picking up and your body feeling hot.

"Thank you..." He mumbles into your hair.

"Of course. Your welcome..." You say

He let's go slowly and clears his throat then leaves too. Leaving you alone with your rising feelings.

He comes back with his hat on now and the others with the supplies.

They wrapped up his body & struggled to pick him up and take him out to the balcony.

Me & Little rock stayed inside to get everybody's guns

"Why are they doing this?" I asked, little rock just shrugged her shoulders.

"I think it's kinda dumb" both of us said at the same time which made us look at each other & laugh.

We headed back to the balcony but I didn't go out

"uh..can you actually take the rest? I don't wanna face the reaction yet when Tal gets mad at me for not shooting too" I said to little rock and chuckle.

She nodded and took the rest of the guns so I gave her a small smile before turning away.

*5 minuets later*

I was sitting on the ground with my knees pulled to my chest & my head resting on them in a small bar I found downstairs next to the garage.

"Hey" Tal's voice broke the silence. I kept my head on my knees

"Hey" I said quietly

"Have you uh, been...crying?" He asked awkwardly. I stayed silent, I was a little embarrassed that he figured out.

It was silent for a few seconds before I heard a gunshot. My head snapped up to see Tal lying on his stomach on a beach chair while aiming his gun at some set up plates in front of us.

He smirked "Sorry" his smile soon faded when he saw me staring at the glass with red puffy eyes and tear trails down my face.

I rested my head in my knees again but a few seconds later I heard little rock

"Hi" she said.

I quickly rubbed my tears away with my sleeve and put on a fake smile. Me and Tal waved to her but then he glanced at me with a frown.

I zoned out while staring at the vases. little rock's scoff broke me from my trance. I glanced over to see her put her gun down.

"Don't worry I don't know how to shoot it either" I said

"Really?" Tal asked surprised.

"Only my pistol I know how" I cracked a small smile but soon frowned when I remembered the time I taught daniel.
